Capitals at Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -145 Favorites

After turning in back-to-back hat tricks and scoring eight goals in his last three games, Alex Ovechkin of the Capitals will miss Monday’s road matchup with the Canadiens due to a suspension for missing his second straight NHL All-Star Game. That said, Washington is still riding a three-game winning streak and has also won six of eight, with the OVER on a 7-3 run. Meanwhile, Montreal was playing some of its best hockey of the season heading into its one-week bye prior to the All-Star break, winning four of five, with the UNDER on a 9-2 run.

Devils at Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Senators -131 Favorites

The Devils return to action hoping to break a three-game losing streak when they visit the Senators. New Jersey also dropped six of eight going into its bye week and will be back home again after this game starting on Thursday to open a three-game homestand. Ottawa ended a season-high nine-game skid on January 18 with a 5-2 rout of the Calgary Flames as a +145 home underdog, and this will be the first of back-to-back games for the team. The Senators will visit the Buffalo Sabres next on Tuesday, and they have dropped four in a row when playing the first game of a back-to-back situation.

Maple Leafs at Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -121 Favorites

The Maple Leafs open a two-game road trip against a pair of Central Division teams when they visit the Predators in the first matchup before meeting the Dallas Stars on Wednesday. Toronto had lost five of six prior to its one-week bye, with the OVER on a 5-1 run. Nashville was playing a little better before its bye week but still finds itself in the cellar of a stacked Central Division. The Predators have won three of five though, with the UNDER on a 3-0-1 in their last four games.

Lightning at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -141 Favorites

Two teams that started living up to preseason expectations before the All-Star break will try to continue their push for the playoffs when the Stars host the Lightning. Tampa Bay has moved up to second place in the Atlantic Division thanks to winning 12 of 14, including a season-high 10-game winning streak. Dallas has won seven of its last 10 overall, but all three losses during that stretch have taken place in the team’s past four. The UNDER is 5-1-1 in the previous seven games for the Stars, who have dropped five of six to the Lightning.

Blues at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -111 Odds

The two division leaders in the Western Conference will square off in Vancouver when the Blues visit the Canucks. St. Louis is fresh off hosting the NHL All-Star Game, with four of the team’s players (center Ryan O’Reilly, winger David Perron, defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and goaltender Jordan Binnington) participating in the event. The Central Division-leading Blues have lost their last two following a four-game winning streak, with the OVER on a 4-1 run. Vancouver holds a one-point lead over four teams in a tight Pacific Division race for the top spot after winning two straight games, four of five and 11 of 14, with the UNDER on a 4-0 run.

Ducks at Sharks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sharks -156 Favorites

Two of the bottom three teams in the Pacific Division and Western Conference will battle in San Jose when the Sharks host the Ducks. Anaheim has won two games in a row to move within three points of San Jose, with both wins coming on the road. The Sharks have gone in the opposite direction of the Ducks, losing three straight, with the UNDER on an 8-2 run.
