Blackhawks vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -175 Favorites

Chicago will again be short-handed in the second game of a back-to-back situation at Nashville after suffering a 3-2 overtime loss there as a +155 road underdog on Tuesday. The Blackhawks played Tuesday’s meeting without winger Alex DeBrincat and defenseman Adam Boqvist, who were both placed on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list Monday. Their depth will definitely be tested in this spot, and they have previously dropped three in a row when playing the second game of a back-to-back, with the UNDER on a 6-0 run for them under that scenario.

Meanwhile, the Predators have also lost three straight, five of six and 11 of 14 in the back end of consecutive games. Fortunately for Nashville, the team was able to rally back from one-goal deficits on two different occasions to end a three-game losing streak against Chicago. Defenseman Roman Josi scored the game-winning goal in OT for the Predators versus Blackhawks goalie Malcolm Subban (36 saves), who was starting for the first time since their season opener. Kevin Lankinen had started the previous three games, winning two of them.

Senators vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canucks -150 Favorites

Vancouver emphatically ended its two-game skid and handed Ottawa its fifth straight loss with a 7-1 victory as a -145 home favorite on Monday. The OVER cashed for the fifth consecutive time both for the Canucks overall and in their matchups with the Senators, with all of those recent meetings totaling seven goals or more. Ottawa has also surrendered 21 goals in its last four games combined, with the OVER on a 3-1 run. Brandon Sutter was the star for the Canucks in the latest matchup between the teams, scoring a hat trick to account for three of his four goals this season. Vancouver goaltender Thatcher Demko turned in his best performance of the year as well, making 35 saves to earn his first win of 2021.

On the other side, Matt Murray continued his struggles in net for Ottawa and has now given up 15 goals in his last three starts, including all seven in the last one. The Senators had won four of the previous five meetings with the Canucks prior to their latest defeat, and this next matchup will be the first game of a back-to-back situation, with the teams playing a third consecutive time on Thursday. Vancouver has won four of five in the first game of a back-to-back while Ottawa has lost six of seven.
