Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -137 Favorites

The Penguins and Capitals will be meeting for the first time this season on Sunday, with Pittsburgh having picked up the victory in three of the past four games between the teams including a 5-3 victory at -130 at home on the NHL odds in their most recent matchup last March. That was an OVER result on the totals at the sportsbooks, but the OVER has only paid out four times in the last 10 meetings between the two teams dating back to April 2018.

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -140 Favorites

The Blue Jackets and Canadiens already met twice back in November, with Montreal winning 3-2 as -180 home favorites on November 12 and Columbus grabbing a 5-2 victory at +100 on the moneyline in the rematch at home on November 19. The two teams have split their last 10 meetings at 5-5 dating back to December 2016, with the OVER/UNDER going 3-7 for totals bettors in that stretch. The OVER, though, has now paid off in two of their last three meetings.

Canucks at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -150 Favorites

It was a low-scoring affair when the Canucks and the Hurricanes faced off for the first time this season back on December 12, with Vancouver grabbing a slim 1-0 victory at home at +100 on the NHL betting lines in that contest. That improved the Canucks to 6-4 in the last 10 games between the teams dating back to January 2015. That December contest was an easy UNDER result on the totals, with the OVER/UNDER at 4-4-2 in the teams’ last 10 matchups.
