Maple Leafs at Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -140 Favorites

The Maple Leafs will try to bounce back from their first loss in four games without starting goaltender Frederik Andersen when they visit the Rangers on Wednesday. Toronto is coming off a 5-3 loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday as a -170 home favorite, ending the team’s three-game winning streak, with the OVER cashing for the fourth time in five games as well.

To make matters worse for the Maple Leafs, they lost their All-Star goalie Andersen to a neck injury, and he is listed as day-to-day on the injury report. With him not traveling to New York, Michael Hutchinson (4-8-1, 3.62 goals-against average) is again expected to take his place after allowing three goals on 13 shots versus the Panthers in relief. The Rangers also hope to rebound from a 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Monday as +115 home underdogs. New York is in the midst of a four-game homestand and has gone 14-11-2 at Madison Square Garden.

Bruins at Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -160 Favorites

Two teams that will be playing for the second consecutive night will square off at the United Center in Chicago when the Blackhawks host the Bruins. Chicago fell 3-2 in overtime to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday as a +110 road underdog, losing for the second time in three games following a five-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Boston will be traveling even further in this spot but had a much easier time on Tuesday in blanking the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 as a -200 home favorite, with the UNDER cashing for the third time in four games.

The Bruins are riding a four-game winning streak, although they have struggled recently in the second game of a back-to-back situation, losing two of three and five of eight under that scenario. However, the Blackhawks are on the other end of the spectrum, thriving when playing on back-to-back nights. Chicago has won three in a row when playing the second game of a back-to-back, and eight of the last 12 times.
