Red Wings at Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -250 Favorites

The Red Wings hope to carry some momentum into this matchup with the Blue Jackets after ending their nine-game losing streak on Thursday. Detroit won at Buffalo 4-3 in a shootout as a +180 road underdog, posting its highest goal total since January 7. Unfortunately for the Red Wings, they have not fared well recently when playing on back-to-back nights, losing six straight and nine of 10 under that scenario. Columbus has headed in the opposite direction, winning two games in a row and eight of nine en route to putting themselves into prime position to earn a playoff spot. The UNDER is also on an 8-2 run for the Blue Jackets.

Sabres at Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Rangers -165 Favorites

The Sabres will try to get back on track when they visit the Rangers in a battle of New York state teams. Buffalo has lost two games in a row and five of six to fall even further back of a potential playoff spot with 28 games remaining. New York is not in much better shape with two more points despite playing two less games, although the team is coming off a much-needed victory against Toronto 5-3 on Wednesday as a +125 home underdog. The Rangers have now won three of their last four games, with the OVER on a 2-1-2 run in their previous five.

Ducks at Maple Leafs | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -250 Favorites

The Ducks will be playing the second game of a back-to-back situation on Friday when they visit the Maple Leafs in the fourth game of a five-game road trip. Anaheim fell 3-2 to the Montreal Canadiens in overtime on Thursday as a +135 underdog, with the UNDER cashing for the third game in a row. The Ducks have won the last two times they have played the second game of a back-to-back following a six-game skid. Meanwhile, Toronto has lost each of its last two games by identical 5-3 scores, with the OVER cashing both times. The Maple Leafs are again expected to be without goaltender Frederik Andersen (neck), so newly acquired Jack Campbell could get the call after arriving in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings made on Wednesday.

Wild at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -170 Favorites

The Wild will attempt to beat the Stars for the third consecutive time in their fourth meeting of the season. Minnesota has outscored Dallas 10-2 in a pair of pick’em matchups on home ice, but the team has not won at the American Airlines Center since October 19, 2018. The Stars have won the past three home meetings by a combined score of 12-4, and they have also won two of their last three overall, with the OVER on a 3-1 run. The Wild are coming off a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday as -125 home favorites, their second in a row overall and fifth in seven games. But Minnesota has lost two straight and eight of nine when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation, with the UNDER on a 4-1 run.
