Here’s a look at the NHL odds and betting trends for the full slate of games on today’s schedule. All NHL betting lines are as listed at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Red Wings at Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Rangers -145 Favorites

These two teams are in the “Lose for Hughes” sweepstakes, although Jack Hughes – the top-ranked player in the 2019 NHL Draft – may not end up finding his way to one of them depending on what happens in the lottery. That said, the Rangers had been playing more competitive before their current four-game losing streak when they have been outscored by a 17-6 margin. The Red Wings just upset the New York Islanders 2-1 in their last game as +205 home underdogs on Saturday, with the UNDER cashing for the fourth time in six games.

Penguins at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -148 Favorites

The Hurricanes will try to pick up a big two points here considering they are chasing the Penguins for third place in the Metropolitan Division. Carolina trails Pittsburgh by three points but has two games in hand, currently sitting in the top Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Penguins have lost their last two games at home after winning six of their previous seven while the Hurricanes have won three of four and 11 of 15.

Bruins at Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -117 Favorites

The Islanders hope to stay in first place in the Metro, which would mean facing a Wild Card team rather than the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals or Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the playoffs. They have won three of their last four following a 3-2 overtime victory against the Minnesota Wild as -105 road underdogs on Sunday, as the total went UNDER in their fourth straight game. The Bruins ended a season-high tying three-game skid with a 2-1 OT win over the Columbus Blue Jackets as -175 home favorites on Saturday.

Canadiens at Flyers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flyers -118 Favorites

The Flyers and Canadiens are both on the outside looking in on the current playoff picture, although neither team is out of contention yet. Philadelphia is coming off a huge 2-1 overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins as a +135 road underdog on Sunday to move within three points of Montreal. Meanwhile, the Canadiens are three points out of the last Wild Card spot after dropping four of their last five games, including a 2-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks as -155 home favorites on Saturday with the UNDER now on a 3-0 run.

Capitals at Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -275 Favorites

The Devils return home from a grueling six-game road trip that saw them win two of the last three to keep it from being a total disappointment. They were underdogs in all six games and beat the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 on Wednesday at +265 and the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Friday at +150. The Capitals cannot afford to lose this one if they want to win the Metro, as they have dropped two of three following a season-high tying seven-game winning streak.

Maple Leafs at Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -137 Favorites

The Maple Leafs have lost three of their last four games and played really poor defensively each time during that stretch with the OVER going 4-0. They have been outscored 23-15, with goaltenders Frederik Andersen and Garret Sparks each struggling. The Predators still have their eyes on the Central Division title and won two of their last three games to close out a three-game road trip through California with the UNDER going 3-0 after a 4-2 upset of the San Jose Sharks as +125 underdogs Saturday.

Oilers at Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -335 Favorites

The postseason hopes of the Oilers are fading fast after they were blown out 6-3 by the Vegas Golden Knights as +200 road underdogs on Sunday. They have now alternated losses and wins in their last six games but play their next five at home after visiting St. Louis. The Blues are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres as -150 road favorites on Sunday, which is their fourth setback in five games, as their lead for third place in the Central Division has shrunk to only two points over the Dallas Stars.

Avalanche at Wild | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Wild -132 Favorites

Much like the Canadiens-Flyers game, the Avalanche and Wild are two teams chasing a Wild Card playoff spot, but in the Western Conference. Minnesota is one point behind the Arizona Coyotes for the second Wild Card while Colorado is four points back. The Wild have won the past two games in this series with the Avalanche after losing the previous four meetings.

Panthers at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -175 Favorites

The Stars can pull into a third-place tie in the Central with a victory and loss by the Blues while the Panthers have little chance to earn a playoff spot in the East. Dallas has lost two games in a row though, with the team’s offense having a difficult time scoring lately. The UNDER is 7-0-1 in the last eight games for the Stars, who are averaging 2.38 goals over that period. Florida saw its four-game winning streak end with a 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks as a -120 road favorite Sunday, with the total going UNDER for the second time in six games.

Blue Jackets at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flames -205 Favorites

The Flames will have an outstanding opportunity to increase their lead atop the Pacific Division after the San Jose Sharks lost to the Golden Knights on Monday. They saw their three-game winning streak halted by the Winnipeg Jets in a 2-1 loss on Saturday as +110 road underdogs. Calgary had outscored its previous three opponents by a 20-8 margin. The Blue Jackets are still holding on to the second Wild Card spot in the East despite splitting their past 14 games, with the UNDER going 10-4, including 6-1 in their last seven.
