Flyers at Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -190 Favorites

The Capitals head into Sunday’s matchup with losses in four of their last six games, including two defeats against the league-leading Lightning, and a 2-1 loss at home to the Wild as -180 betting favorites in their last game on Friday night. Washington, though, is 3-0 against Philadelphia so far this season, beating them 5-3 at home as a -200 favorite in January and 5-3 and 5-2 on the road as favorites of -130 and -125 in two March matchups. Totals bettors have watched the OVER pay out in each of the last five games between the two teams.

Coyotes at Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -145 Favorites

The Coyotes’ losing streak was extended to four games on Saturday with a 2-1 shootout loss to the Devils as -165 road favorites; Arizona’s skid also includes losses against Edmonton, Tampa Bay, and Florida over the past week. The Islanders got back into the win column on Saturday with a 4-2 doubling of the Flyers as +110 underdogs. New York topped Arizona 3-1 as +110 road underdogs in an UNDER result when the teams last met back on December 18.

Canadiens at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -150 Favorites

Montreal and Carolina have split their two meetings so far this season, with the Hurricanes winning 2-1 as -120 road favorites in an UNDER result on November 27 and the Canadiens winning 6-4 as -120 home favorites in an OVER result on December 13. Carolina has the slight edge in the last 10 games between the two teams dating back to 2016, winning six times. The OVER has only paid out on the totals three times over their past 10 matchups.

Avalanche at Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -110

Colorado and Chicago will be meeting in the second game of a home-and-home series on Sunday, with the Avalanche coming out on top 4-2 as -150 home favorites in their matchup on Saturday afternoon. J.T. Compher, Colin Wilson, Sven Andrighetto, and Derick Brassard all scored for the Avs on Sunday, with Jonathan Toews and Erik Gustafsson replying for the Blackhawks. The UNDER has now paid out four times over the teams’ past five meetings.

Blue Jackets at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -145 Favorites

The Blue Jackets have picked a bad time to be on a losing streak, dropping each of their last three games including a 4-1 defeat at Edmonton as -135 betting favorites in their last game on Thursday night to further hurt their playoff chances. Columbus is also 0-4 in its last four games against Vancouver, losing to them 3-2 as -200 home favorites in their first meeting of the season on December 11. The Blue Jackets are 3-7 in their last 10 against the Canucks.
