Islanders at Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -145 Favorites

This is an excellent Metropolitan Division matchup between two teams with a lot to play for over the last two weeks of the regular season. The Islanders are one point behind the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals for the division lead while the Blue Jackets are two points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the second Wild Card spot. Columbus does have the benefit of playing one more game than Montreal down the stretch but has lost each of the past three meetings versus New York with the UNDER going 3-0.

Hurricanes at Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -145 Favorites

Washington will be trying to hold on to the lead in the Metro here while Carolina looks to solidify its status as the top Wild Card team in the Eastern Conference. In what could be a potential first-round playoff preview, the Capitals have won seven of the last nine games between the teams, including both meetings this season. The Hurricanes lost 3-1 as +140 road underdogs in the most recent meeting on December 27 after falling 6-5 in the previous matchup as +115 home dogs on December 14.

Sabres at Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sabres -130 Favorites

Neither team has anything to play for in this spot, although the Senators are coming off a rare victory and the Sabres are hoping to end a three-game skid. Ottawa upset the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 as +220 road underdogs on Saturday, the team’s third win in five games after losing four straight and 11 of 12. Buffalo has lost two of the previous three games in this series as a small favorite but did win 9-2 in the most recent meeting on November 3 at -165.

Panthers at Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -180 Favorites

Another big game for the Canadiens and their playoff chances, as a loss and win by Blue Jackets would put them in a tie for the second Wild Card spot. The Panthers are 10 points behind them in the standings and on the brink of postseason elimination, so they are merely playing spoilers right now. That said, Florida has won four of the past six meetings, including the last one 6-3 on February 17 as a -135 home favorite to end a two-game series skid.

Kings at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -210 Favorites

Like the Panthers, the Kings have been relegated to the spoiler role at the end of the regular season, and they have been performing quite well in it recently with a three-game winning streak. That includes upset wins over the San Jose Sharks (4-2) as +180 home underdogs last Thursday and Calgary Flames (3-0) as +260 road dogs on Monday. This will be the second game of a back-to-back situation for Los Angeles, and the team is 3-2 in its last five under that scenario. The Oilers are close to being eliminated from playoff contention in the Western Conference, and they have lost three of their last four with the OVER on a 3-1 run.

Blackhawks at Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Coyotes -130 Favorites

This is a must-win game for the Blackhawks as they attempt to stay alive for the final playoff spot in the West. They routed the Coyotes 7-1 as -120 home favorites on March 11 in the midst of a five-game winning streak but then have proceeded to lose three of their next four. The crazier trend for Chicago is five straight UNDERs cashing since the OVER went 17-1-1. Arizona also desperately needs a victory to end a five-game losing streak and move into a tie for the second Wild Card spot with the Colorado Avalanche. The Coyotes had won four of five and 10 of 12 prior to their skid, and the UNDER has also cashed in four of their last five.

Ducks at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canucks -140 Favorites

Two Pacific Division teams with little on the line battle in Vancouver as the home team attempts to end a two-game slide. The Canucks have lost six of the last eight games against the Ducks, with the UNDER going 6-1-1 over that stretch dating back to 2017. Anaheim has alternated wins and losses in its last four games overall with the OVER on a 2-0 run.
