Canadiens at Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -145 Favorites

Two teams fighting for the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference will meet in Columbus, as the host team attempts to pull even with Montreal. The Blue Jackets have won two games in a row following a 4-0 victory against the New York Islanders as -160 home favorites on Tuesday. The UNDER has cashed in six straight games and 10 of 11 for Columbus. Meanwhile, the Canadiens have won four of their last five games after dropping four of five following a 6-1 rout of the Florida Panthers as -200 home favorites on Tuesday. The UNDER is on a 6-2 run for Montreal.

Capitals at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -120 Favorites

The Hurricanes are one point ahead of the Canadiens for the first Wild Card spot in the East, but they also have one game in hand to give them another edge. They will be completing a home-and-home series with the Capitals here after losing 4-1 as +110 road underdogs on Tuesday. Washington owns a three-point lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders for the lead in the Metropolitan Division thanks to a three-game winning streak. The UNDER is 5-1-1 in the last seven games for Washington and 10-2-1 in the previous 13.

Red Wings at Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sabres -135 Favorites

The Red Wings and Sabres have both already been eliminated from postseason contention, so there is virtually nothing on the line here except for maybe some more chances in the NHL Draft lottery. While Buffalo is suffering through a four-game losing streak, Detroit has won two in a row after upsetting the Vegas Golden Knights and San Jose Sharks by identical 3-2 scores and as identical +320 underdogs in the last two of their five-game road trip that ends at KeyBank Center. The UNDER is also on a 4-1 run in the last five games for the Red Wings.

Panthers at Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -149 Favorites

Two more Eastern Conference teams that have already been eliminated will also meet in Ottawa when Florida comes to town. Like the Sabres, the Panthers are skidding with a three-game losing streak while the Senators have surprisingly won two straight as underdogs similar to the Red Wings. Ottawa is coincidentally coming off a 4-0 win over Buffalo as a +100 home underdog on Tuesday, which is also the team’s fourth victory as a dog in six games.

Islanders at Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Jets -170 Favorites

The Islanders are no longer just playing for the Metro Division title, but they are also battling the Penguins for home ice in a potential first-round playoff matchup. Pittsburgh has won three games in a row while New York has dropped three of five to tie them up in the standings. The Islanders have also seen eight of their last nine games fall UNDER the total. The Jets are trying to stay atop the Central Division as well after losing two of three, sitting just two points ahead of the Nashville Predators and four ahead of the St. Louis Blues. This could be a low-scoring affair considering the UNDER is on a 5-1 run in Winnipeg’s last six games too.

Stars at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -120 Favorites

Edmonton’s chances of making the playoffs are virtually dead while Dallas will be playing on back-to-back nights in a tough spot off a 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, with the UNDER on a 10-2-1 run. The Stars have won two of their last three when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation but have dropped seven of 10 under that scenario going back further. The Oilers hope to play spoilers against the team in the first Wild Card spot, and they have seen the OVER go 4-1 in their last five games while losing three of them.

Kings at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canucks -130 Favorites

Los Angeles saw a three-game winning streak end abruptly with an 8-4 loss at Edmonton as a +170 road underdog on Tuesday. The Kings had won three consecutive games or more only twice previously this season, so they have been playing much better recently. The same cannot be said about the Canucks, who are riding a three-game losing streak. They have given up five goals in each of their last two and had seen the UNDER go on a 6-1 run in their previous seven before falling 5-4 to the Anaheim Ducks as -135 home favorites on Tuesday.

Blackhawks at Sharks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sharks -225 Favorites

Like Edmonton, Chicago’s playoff hopes are on life support following a 1-0 loss to the Arizona Coyotes as a +115 road underdog on Tuesday. The Blackhawks have now dropped four of their last five games, with the UNDER cashing in six straight. The Sharks have been even worse though, with their season-long slide extending to six games with a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings as -380 home favorites on Monday. San Jose has closed as a favorite in its last 11 losses dating back to January 21, allowing four goals or more in 10 of them.
