Senators at Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Rangers -230 Favorites

The Rangers may be big home favorites in this spot, but they arguably have more to lose by winning than the Senators, who have also played much better recently. New York is in the “Lose for Hughes” sweepstakes, and winning more games actually hurts the team’s chances to land likely No. 1 overall pick Jack Hughes. Meanwhile, Ottawa has no chance to get Hughes because the Colorado Avalanche own that first-round pick via trade for Matt Duchene last season. The Senators have won five of their last nine games as underdogs compared to a Rangers squad that has dropped eight of 11 and 14 of 18 dating back to February 24.

Blues at Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -159 Favorites

The Blues have a huge opportunity to move into a three-way tie for first place in the Central Division thanks to a loss by the Winnipeg Jets and win by the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. With two home games remaining after visiting Chicago, St. Louis may also be in the best position to win the division, so bettors should expect the team’s best effort here. The Blackhawks have won three of the past four meetings, with the OVER cashing three times. They closed as underdogs in two of the wins as well, which means the Blues would be wise not to take them lightly in such a key game.

Flames at Ducks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flames -159 Favorites

The Flames have already clinched the Pacific Division title along with the top seed in the Western Conference, but they would also like to finish with more points than the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals to help them earn home ice in a potential Stanley Cup final matchup. They played the Ducks last Friday and routed them 6-1 as -270 home favorites, with the OVER cashing for the first time in eight meetings. That was Calgary’s second straight win in the series after losing 10 of the previous 12 games between them. Anaheim has alternated wins and losses in its last seven games overall following a 5-1 victory against the Edmonton Oilers as a +135 road underdog on Saturday. The OVER is on a 5-0 run for the Ducks.
