Here’s a look at the NHL odds and betting trends for the full slate of games on today’s schedule. All NHL betting lines are as listed at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Lightning at Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -117 Favorites

These teams could meet in the second round of the playoffs, with that series winner likely being the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. The Lightning are already heavy favorites to win the Stanley Cup and will try to tie the Detroit Red Wings for most wins ever in a single regular season at 62 set during the 1995-96 season. They have also won six of the past seven meetings with the Bruins, with two of them coming on the road.

Canucks at Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -360 Favorites

A victory here combined with losses by the Predators and Jets would give the Blues the Central Division title. But for now, they are sitting in third place in the Central and would be facing the second-place Jets in the first round. St. Louis bounced back from a 4-3 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks as -155 road favorites on Wednesday by routing the Philadelphia Flyers 7-3 as -210 home favorites on Thursday to stay in the mix. Vancouver blew a 2-0 lead in a 3-2 loss at Nashville as a +210 road underdog on Thursday, ending the team’s three-game winning streak, although the UNDER cashed for the fourth straight time.

Blue Jackets at Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -295 Favorites

The Blue Jackets will be playing back-to-back nights after visiting the Rangers on Friday. They have alternated wins and losses the last six times they have played the second game of a back-to-back situation and clinched a playoff spot with a 3-2 win at New York as -260 road favorites Friday. The Senators still have nothing to play for but had won six of their previous 10 games before losing 5-2 to the Buffalo Sabres as +170 road underdogs on Thursday.

Hurricanes at Flyers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -195 Favorites

The Hurricanes have already clinched a Wild Card playoff berth but can lock in the first spot with a win here. They are coming off a 3-1 victory against the New Jersey Devils as -350 home favorites on Thursday after beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 as -120 road favorites on Tuesday, with the UNDER cashing in their last three games as well. Meanwhile, the Flyers are playing like a team that was eliminated from playoff contention recently, losing four straight games and six of their last seven, with the OVER on a 5-2 run during that stretch.

Sabres at Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Red Wings -143 Favorites

These two Atlantic Division teams have identical records heading into this matchup, with the Sabres a much worse team on the road at 11-24-5. The Red Wings own a 17-18-5 mark at home and saw their season-high six-game winning streak end with a 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins as +240 road underdogs on Thursday. The UNDER has cashed in two straight for Detroit and is also on a 7-3 run dating back to March 16 with the team going 8-2.

Maple Leafs at Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -118 Favorites

The Canadiens were eliminated from playoff contention when the Blue Jackets won on Friday, so it will be hard to figure out their mindset for this matchup. It is still a fierce rivalry, with the Maple Leafs winning the past seven meetings after losing 14 in a row in the series dating back to 2014. Toronto has not played well lately though, with four losses in five games, and the UNDER cashing in four straight along with seven of nine following a 4-0 OVER run.

Islanders at Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -137 Favorites

The Islanders can clinch second place in the Metropolitan Division simply by earning a point here while the Capitals can finish no worse or better than the third-best team in the Eastern Conference. New York should be extremely motivated to win in this spot considering head coach Barry Trotz is facing his former team in the regular-season finale with a lot on the line.

Rangers at Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -420 Favorites

The Penguins are trying to overtake the Islanders for second place in the Metro but need them to lose and also must secure a victory against the Rangers in order to make that happen. Their opponent will be playing on back-to-back nights after suffering a 3-2 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets on Friday.  New York has dropped seven in a row in that situation, with the OVER going 6-1 in those games, failing to cover the puckline four times.

Devils at Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -315 Favorites

This is an ugly Eastern Conference matchup between two teams with nothing to play for, with the Panthers getting a major edge for playing at home. Florida is 20-13-7 at home this season while New Jersey is 10-27-3 on the road for the worst mark in the league. Regarding head-to-head matchups, the Panthers have won three of the past four and eight of the last 10.

Blackhawks at Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -286 Favorites

Nobody wants to play the Blackhawks right now even though they have already been eliminated from postseason contention. They routed the Dallas Stars 6-1 in a pick’em matchup on Friday for their second victory in a row, with Patrick Kane scoring two goals as the OVER cashed in their third straight game. However, there is a lot on the line for the Predators, who just need a win to clinch their second consecutive Central Division title.

Wild at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -200 Favorites

The Stars are in danger of giving up the top Wild Card spot in the West to the Avalanche with a loss and win by them on the final day of the regular season. Dallas is limping into the postseason with five wins and six losses in their last 11 games but at least gets to play a team that has surrendered a bit in Minnesota. The Wild have dropped four of their last six games and 11 of 16 since putting together a five-game winning streak that gave the team some hope. The UNDER has cashed in four of the last five for the Wild along with seven of nine.

Oilers at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flames -195 Favorites

The Flames would like to finish with the second-most points in the NHL behind the Lightning and need a win here to top the Bruins for that distinction. Not only has Calgary been the best in the West during the regular season, but the team’s 26-9-5 mark at home is third-best overall behind only Tampa Bay and Boston. Meanwhile, the Oilers are suffering through a five-game losing streak and are a lock to end up as the second-worst team in the West this year.

Jets at Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Jets -141 Favorites

The Coyotes were eliminated from postseason contention on Thursday when the Avalanche went to overtime against the Jets, and now Arizona will try to prevent Winnipeg from winning the Central Division. A win in their home finale would accomplish that after the Coyotes blew out the Vegas Golden Knights 4-1 in their opponent’s home finale as +190 road underdogs on Thursday. The Jets need a win and a loss by the Predators in order to win the division title.

Avalanche at Sharks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sharks -182 Favorites

The Avalanche have already clinched a Wild Card playoff berth but can jump into the top spot with a win and a loss by the Stars. They would probably like to avoid the Flames in the first round while the Sharks are locked into a postseason matchup with the Golden Knights. Colorado is one of the hottest teams in the league right now with an 8-0-2 mark in its last 10 games while San Jose is one of the coldest at 2-8-1 in its previous 11.

Golden Knights at Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -134 Favorites

Vegas is in the playoffs for the second year in a row, and the team seems to be playing like it cannot wait for the postseason to get underway. While many believe the defending Western Conference champions can do some damage again this year, they have not played like it recently with six losses in seven games. Even the return of goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury could not stop the bleeding in a 4-1 loss for the Golden Knights to the Coyotes as -220 home favorites on Thursday. The Kings probably cannot wait for this season to end though, as they lost for the fourth time in six games to the Anaheim Ducks 5-2 as +135 road underdogs on Friday. They have alternated wins and losses the last eight times they have played the second game of a back-to-back situation, with the OVER going 5-2-1 during that stretch.
