The Islanders took a 2-0 lead in this best-of-seven first-round series on Friday night with a 3-1 victory at +105 on the betting lines, in the team’s fourth UNDER result in their past five outings. Anthony Beauvillier, Jordan Eberle, and Josh Bailey all scored for New York in that win, while Erik Gudbrandson had the lone Pittsburgh marker. The Penguins have now fallen to defeat in four of their last five games, with the UNDER at 5-2 in their past seven contests.

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -157 Favorites

The Lightning were heavy -300 betting favourites in Game 2 of this series on Friday night, but lost 5-1 to fall into a 2-0 hole in the set. Mikhail Sergachev had the lone Tampa Bay goal in the loss, with Cam Atkinson, Zach Werenski, Matt Duchene, Riley Nash, and Artemi Panarin all finding the back of the net for the Blue Jackets. Tampa Bay will be without leading scorer Nikita Kucherov on Sunday night as he sits out to serve a one-game suspension for boarding.

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -175 Favorites

St. Louis also holds a 2-0 lead in its first-round series, getting past Winnipeg 4-3 on Friday night at +110 on the road on the betting lines. Oskar Sundqvist had a pair of goals for the Blues in that game, with Patrick Maroon and Ryan O’Reilly also scoring on the night. Patrik Laine, Blake Wheeler, and Mark Scheifele had the goals for the Jets, as they turned in their fourth OVER in their past six games. Winnipeg had been a -130 betting favourite Friday night.

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -157 Favorites

The Golden Knights tied up this series at 1-1 with a 5-3 win as +115 road underdogs in Game 2 on Friday night, marking just their second victory in their past 10 games. Cody Eakin, Colin Miller, Max Pacioretty, Mark Stone, and William Karlsson had the goals for Vegas, with Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl, and Joe Thornton scoring for San Jose, and Sharks goalie Martin Jones getting pulled after allowing three goals on seven shots. San Jose was a -135 favourite.
