Charlie Coyle, Brad Marchand, Danton Heinen, and Patrice Bergeron had the goals for the Bruins on Saturday, while Tuukka Rask made 30 saves. The Leafs were losers as +125 underdogs, and they’ve had six UNDER results in their past seven outings. Nazem Kadri had the lone Toronto goal, but faces a potential suspension for cross-checking.

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -115 Favorites

The Capitals can take a commanding 3-0 lead in this best-of-seven series on Monday night after outlasting the Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime as -155 betting favourites in Game 2 on Saturday. Brooks Orpik had the winner in the extra frame for Washington, following goals by Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, and Tom Wilson. Lucas Wallmark, Sebastian Aho, and Jordan Staal scored for Carolina, who had been set as the +135 underdog. The OVER is now 2-0 in this series, 3-0 in the Hurricanes’ last three games, and 4-2 in Washington’s last six outings.

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -120 Favorites

Nashville topped Dallas 2-1 in overtime as a -160 betting favourite on Saturday to even this first-round series at 1-1, with Craig Smith scoring the winner. Rocco Grimaldi had Nashville’s goal in regulation time, while Pekka Rinne stopped 22 of 23 Dallas shots in the UNDER result on the totals. Jamie Benn scored Dallas’ only goal in the losing cause, with the team a +140 underdog on the day. The OVER has paid off just twice in the Stars’ eight most recent games.

Opening NHL Odds: Flames -130 Favorites

Nathan MacKinnon had the overtime winner on Saturday night to give the Avalanche a 3-2 win over the Flames to tie up this series at 1-1 as +175 betting underdogs. Matt Nieto and J.T. Compher also scored for Colorado in the win, with Rasmus Andersson and Sean Monahan replying for the Flames. Calgary was the -210 betting favourite in the contest, and turned in its fourth straight UNDER result on the totals. The UNDER is 3-1 in Colorado’s last four games.
