Bruins at Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -115 Favorites

For the first time this postseason, the Bruins have suffered consecutive losses. However, they also trailed their first-round series with the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 before evening that one up and closing them out with three wins in the last four games.

Boston’s biggest issue right now is a lack of scoring after finding the back of the net just once in a 2-1 loss in Game 3 at Columbus. The UNDER cashed for the third straight time in the series thanks to the outstanding play of Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who stopped 36 of 37 shots. Bobrovsky has faced more than 30 shots in the last five games and improved to 6-1 with arguably his best performance of the playoffs so far.

Columbus won as a -120 home favorite and has seen the UNDER cash in five of six games now going back to the first round.

Sharks at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -125 Favorites

The Sharks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on the Avalanche in Game 3 and held on for a 4-2 victory as +110 road underdogs to take a 2-1 edge in the series. Unlike the other series, this one has seen plenty of goals with the OVER going 2-0-1, and the winner scoring four or more each time. It took an empty-netter by San Jose’s Logan Couture though to get a push in Game 3, as he completed his first postseason hat trick.

Colorado played much better after the first period, holding the opposition without another goal until the 12:50 mark of the third, when Couture scored his NHL-leading eighth goal of the playoffs and second of the game.

Philipp Grubauer has surrendered three goals or more in each of the first three games for the Avalanche after limiting the top-seeded Calgary Flames to two or less in the last four of their first-round series. That has to be a cause for concern heading into Game 4 on Thursday.
