Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -120 Favorites

David Pastrnak scored late in the game on Saturday night to give the Bruins a 4-3 victory and a 3-2 lead in this second-round playoff series. Boston had been listed as a -145 home favorite in the OVER result for totals bettors, getting a pair of goals from Pastrnak and one each from David Krejci and Brad Marchand on the night. Seth Jones, Ryan Dzingel, and Dean Kukan scored for Columbus in a four-minute stretch in the third period before Pastrnak put the Bruins back ahead for good. Tuukka Rask made 33 saves on 36 Blue Jackets shots in the contest.

Boston had been coming off a 4-1 win as +100 road underdogs in Game 4 of the series, and has now won five of its last seven games heading into Game 6 of the best-of-seven set on Monday night. The UNDER had paid off in the first four games of this series before Saturday’s OVER result. The Bruins have improved to -420 favorites on the series prices at sportsbooks.

Sharks at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -125 Favorites

Tomas Hertl scored his seventh and eighth goals of the playoffs on Saturday night as the Sharks edged the Avalanche 2-1 as -145 home favorites on the betting lines to grab a 3-2 advantage in this second-round postseason series. Martin Jones made 21 saves on 22 Colorado shots in the victory, with Avalanche counterpart Philipp Grubauer stopping 37 shots on the day. Tyson Jost had the lone Colorado goal in the game, scoring in the second period.

San Jose and Colorado have alternated wins and losses in this series heading into Game 6 on Monday night, with the Sharks winning Game 1, Game 3, and Game 5, and the Avalanche coming out on top in both Game 2 and Game 4. The UNDER has paid off for totals bettors in each of the last two games of this series, including Colorado’s 3-0 home win as -135 favorites in Game 4. Needing one more win to advance, the Sharks are now the -400 series favorites.
