The Blues turned the tables on the Sharks with a 4-2 victory in Game 2 on Monday to even the Western Conference final at 1-1. They played much more disciplined and capitalized on their chances early on, building a 2-0 lead and then answering a pair of goals by San Jose’s Logan Couture with a score by Robert Bortuzzo toward the end of the second period for a 3-2 advantage.

St. Louis rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington bounced back nicely as well with 24 saves to help his team pull off the small upset as a +115 road underdog. The Blues have yet to lose consecutive road games this postseason and now must find a way to improve their play at home since they have just a 3-4 mark at the Enterprise Center in the playoffs.

The Blues are a better defensive team than the Sharks, who rely more on their offense like they did in a 6-3 win in Game 1.

The last two games in St. Louis have gone UNDER the total, and five of the past six played there have seen five goals or less scored. That is something for bettors to consider since the first two games of this series have both gone OVER the total, as the UNDER cashed in the previous six regular-season meetings, according to the OddsShark NHL Database. Games 5 and 7 for the Blues against the Dallas Stars in the last round each resulted in 2-1 decisions, and that is the type of game the host would like to play.

San Jose has lost its last two road games en route to going 2-4 away from home in the postseason, surrendering four goals or more three times. But in the 2016 Western Conference final, Sharks goalie Martin Jones had a shutout against the Blues in Game 2 and allowed only two goals in the first two road games combined.

In fact, San Jose took two of three in St. Louis overall on its way to its first Stanley Cup final appearance versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
