Lightning vs Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -135 Favorites

New York hopes to regain control of this Stanley Cup semifinal series against Tampa Bay with the first of at least two home games at Nassau Coliseum on Thursday. The Lightning successfully rebounded from a Game 1 loss by doubling up the Islanders 4-2 as -200 home favorites in Game 2 on Tuesday. Nikita Kucherov led the way with three assists for the defending Stanley Cup champions while Brayden Point scored a goal in his fifth consecutive game and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy (24 saves) also helped them improve to 12-0 after a postseason loss dating back to last year.

New York had won its previous four games as an underdog, a role the team will be in again at home. The Islanders have still won seven of 11 games as underdogs in the playoffs, including four of five on their home ice. The Lightning have now won 17 of the past 24 meetings, with the OVER cashing for just the second time in their last nine games overall. The OVER improved to 3-1 in New York’s last four games and has gone 6-2-1 in its previous nine going back to the first round versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
