Bruins vs Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -115 Favorites

The Bruins will look to take a 2-0 lead on the Lightning by winning their fifth straight game on Tuesday. Boston has been perfect since finding out goaltender Tuukka Rask was leaving the bubble, reeling off four consecutive wins, including each of the last three by exactly one goal. The Bruins took a 3-0 lead early in the third period of Game 1 on Sunday before surrendering a pair of goals to Lightning All-Star defenseman Victor Hedman, but goalie Jaroslav Halak still did enough between the pipes to earn the win with 35 saves.

Halak’s play has been admirable in replacing Rask, and their teammates have rallied around the latter’s absence to play their best hockey of the postseason. Remember, this Boston team finished the regular season six points ahead of the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues for the most in the NHL prior to the pause yet started the playoffs at 0-3 to fall to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay is searching for answers and has seen seven of its nine games decided by one goal in the postseason, including all six of the team’s wins. The UNDER is on a 4-1 run for the Bruins and has also cashed in 11 of their last 14 outings.

Canucks vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -196 Favorites

How much better can the Golden Knights play in Game 2 versus the Canucks than they did in the series opener on Sunday? Not much after Vegas routed Vancouver 5-0 to reward backers who laid a hefty -200 price in Game 1. The Knights saw goalie Robin Lehner pick up his first career shutout in the postseason with 26 saves after Marc-Andre Fleury had to clear the air pregame so that everyone knows he supports his teammate as they continue their journey toward playing for the Stanley Cup.

Lehner still has only one loss with his new team since arriving in a trade from the Chicago Blackhawks at the end of February while counterpart Jacob Markstrom was pulled after surrendering all five goals in his worst performance of the playoffs. Despite being an offensive powerhouse, Vegas has seen the UNDER go 3-1 in its last four games. It is also worth noting that the UNDER has cashed in all four losses for the Canucks this postseason, and the OVER is 6-1 in their seven wins, including a 5-0 run.
