Coyotes at Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sabres -125 Favorites

Two of the best young teams in the NHL will square off in Buffalo on Monday when the Atlantic Division-leading Sabres host the Arizona Coyotes. Buffalo is off to another hot start like last year and hopes to avoid a pitfall like that team experienced en route to finishing with the third-worst record in the division. The Sabres have outscored the opposition by 12 goals so far this year, and they have won four of their last five games, with three of those coming on the road and two as underdogs. The OVER has also cashed in three of their past four, to improve to 7-5 overall this season.

Meanwhile, Arizona has played two less games but is still outscoring its opponents by nine goals following a 5-3 win over the New Jersey Devils as +100 road underdogs on Friday. The Coyotes have won five of their previous six games, with the OVER going 4-1-1 during that stretch. However, Arizona has lost 14 of the past 18 meetings with Buffalo, with the UNDER on a 3-0 series run.

Panthers at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canucks -120 Favorites

Another one of the Pacific Division’s early surprises will wrap up a brief two-game homestand when the Vancouver Canucks host the Florida Panthers. The Canucks are coming off a 6-5 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday as -115 home favorites, blowing a 5-1 lead in the second period after they had scored five unanswered goals. Regardless, Vancouver has still won six of its last eight games after opening the season with two losses in its first two.

Florida will continue a three-game road trip through Canada and four-game trip overall after splitting the first two versus the Calgary Flames (a 6-5 loss as a +120 underdog) and the Edmonton Oilers (a 6-2 victory as a -115 favorite). However, the Panthers will be playing on back-to-back nights here, and they have lost three of their last four and six of eight in that situation. The teams have split the past four meetings in the series after alternating wins and losses in the previous eight overall, so this appears to be a pretty even matchup.
