Senators at Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -240 Favorites

Both the Senators and Canadiens will be playing on back-to-back nights after a very busy 13-game schedule in the NHL on Tuesday. Ottawa has not fared well in the second game of a back-to-back situation recently, losing four straight times and 12 of 15 dating back to December 9, 2018. But the Senators are coming off a 4-3 upset win over the Red Wings as -105 road underdogs on the NHL betting lines.

Montreal has not done much better when playing the second game of a back-to-back, dropping five of six and seven of 10 in the second game of a back-to-back. However, the Canadiens have enjoyed a lot of success against the Senators lately, winning each of the past three meetings and nine of 11 going back to March of 2017. Montreal did fall 5-2 at Columbus as a -120 road favorite on Tuesday.

Capitals at Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -160 Favorites

The Capitals will hit the road for a quick visit to the Rangers before beginning a three-game homestand. Washington is a league-best 10-1-1 away from home this season, including five consecutive wins. The team’s lone road loss in regulation this season was 6-5 at Nashville back on October 10, and five of its seven losses overall have been decided by exactly one goal, with four of them going to overtime.

Meanwhile, New York has gone 5-4-2 at home so far, and the team will be looking to end a two-game skid, with both losses coming on the road. The Rangers have closed as underdogs in five straight games, with the OVER going 3-1 in their last four. They have lost the past seven meetings with the Capitals and 10 of 11 going back to the 2017 season. The OVER is also on a 4-1 series run, with those five games averaging 7.6 goals. The OVER has cashed in 14 of 17 games overall for Washington as well.
