Islanders at Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -175 Favorites

The Islanders will try to move back into second place in the Metropolitan Division when they visit the Capitals on Tuesday. New York lost the season opener at home to Washington 2-1 as a -120 favorite and has dropped three of four overall after winning four of five. Division-leading Washington has lost two of its last three, getting outscored 14-9 during that stretch.

Ducks at Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -215 Favorites

These Pacific Division teams will be squaring off for the second time in five days as the Ducks visit the Golden Knights. Anaheim beat Vegas for just the second time ever 4-3 last Friday as a +130 home underdog after losing eight of the previous nine all-time meetings. The Golden Knights bounced back with a 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday as -140 home favorites to take over sole possession of first place in the Pacific for the first time this year.

Maple Leafs at Wild | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -130 Favorites

The Maple Leafs hope to avoid suffering consecutive losses for the first time since December 4 when they visit the Wild. Toronto saw its season-high six-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday with a 5-4 loss to the New York Rangers as -240 favorites, with the OVER cashing for the third straight time. Meanwhile, Minnesota continues a four-game homestand after losing the opener 3-1 to the New York Islanders on Sunday as a -115 favorite.

Lightning at Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -150 Favorites

The Sabres will be looking to end a three-game skid when they host the Lightning in an Atlantic Division clash. Buffalo has also lost six of seven, with the UNDER cashing in four straight, after getting swept by the division-leading Boston Bruins in a home-and-home series by a combined score of 6-2. Tampa Bay has won three games in a row – all at Amalie Arena – and begins a four-game road trip here after going 8-6-2 in its first 16 away from home.

Canadiens at Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -170 Favorites

The Hurricanes continue a season-long seven-game homestand against the Canadiens following a 6-4 victory against the Capitals on Saturday as a -120 favorite in the opener. Carolina ended a three-game losing streak with that win and also saw the OVER cash for the third straight time. Montreal will be wrapping up a seven-game road trip and trying to win for just the second time in five attempts, with the team’s previous five losses all decided by one goal.

Jets at Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -195 Favorites

The Avalanche will look to get back on track and break a two-game skid when they host the Jets. Colorado has lost four of its last five games, with the OVER on a 3-1 run. But Winnipeg has been in an even bigger slump, dropping three straight and five of its last six.

Blues at Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blues -120 Favorites

The Coyotes continue a rough stretch against last year’s playoff teams when they host the defending Stanley Cup champion Blues. Arizona has lost three in a row to Nashville, Vegas and Dallas, getting outscored by an 11-5 margin, as All-Star goaltender Darcy Kuemper remains out of action due to a lower-body injury. St. Louis rides a season-high eight-game winning streak into Gila River Arena to open a three-game road trip. The Blues have gone an impressive 13-4-3 so far on the road, the same exact record they have at home.

Blackhawks at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flames -185 Favorites

The Blackhawks will attempt to extend their winning streak to three games for just the second time this season when they visit the Flames. Chicago had a season-high four-game winning streak between November 10 and 17, and the team has also won four of its last five overall. Calgary has headed in the opposite direction, dropping five of seven following a season-high seven-game winning streak. The OVER is also on a 7-3-2 run in the last 12 for the Flames.

Also on today’s schedule: Bruins at Devils, Panthers at Blue Jackets, Sharks at Red Wings, Flyers at Kings and Rangers at Oilers.
