DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (December 3rd)

The Corsica NHL betting predictions had another decent outing on Friday, nailing its most probable bet but unfortunately missing on the most valuable. Corsica gave the Blues a 69.88% chance of covering a +1.5-goal spread against the Avalanche. This one was a lock from the start as the Blues jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. The Avalanche slowly clawed back to tie the game in the third before Colton Parayko netted the game-winner in overtime. Corsica gave the Kings just a 40.64% chance of beating the Flames but claimed no bet offered better value on Friday’s slate. The Kings played the Flames tight for two-and-a-half periods before Johnny Gaudreau gave Calgary the lead halfway through the third. Calgary would add a pair of empty-net goals to make the final 4-1.

Highest Probability

Sabres @ Predators – Moneyline | NSH (-170)

According to Corsica, at 65.23%, the Predators on the moneyline is the most probable bet to come through on tonight’s slate. Some might be inclined to lean towards Buffalo given all the injury troubles Nashville is going through right now, but even without Filip Forsberg in the lineup, Nashville projects to have a clear advantage over Buffalo at 5v5. Jason Pominville has been announced out for tonight’s game while Sam Reinhart is expected to skate with Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner on Buffalo’s top line. Eichel and Skinner have dominated play at even strength with Pominville on the right wing but, for some reason, have struggled mightily with Reinhart. The three of them are averaging just 17 scoring chances per 60 at 5v5 while surrendering over 31 scoring chances to the opposition.

On the flip side of things, Ryan Johansen and Kevin Fiala have been extremely productive together even without Forsberg. They should carry the pace of play tonight in their head-to-head matchup against the Eichel line. Throw in the clear advantages in goal and on the blueline, and it’s easy to see why Corsica is so high on Nashville tonight.

Lightning @ Devils – Over/Under | Under 6.5 (+104)

With a 60.68% chance of coming to fruition, the under at 6.5 goals for the Devils and Lightning is by far the most valuable bet on tonight’s slate. All of the Devils’ top-three lines suppress shots and scoring chances at an above average rate, which should keep the Lightning’s dynamic forward corps from going off against Keith Kinkaid. Tampa will have to rely on their potent power-play to carry them tonight, which will be easier said than done against the fourth-best penalty-killing team in the NHL.

New Jersey’s top line should see some chances in their time against the Brayden Point line but will be hard-pressed to generate much offense against the hard-checking third line of the Lightning. After a red-hot start to the season the Devils’ power-play went ice cold in November, converting on just 13.6% of their chances. Going up against the tenth-best penalty-killing team in the league, don’t expect New Jersey to start correcting their problems on the man advantage tonight.
