DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (November 16th)

The Corsica NHL betting predictions went all in on the Red Wings on Thursday and it nearly paid off. Corsica’s highest value pick was Detroit on the moneyline, a narrow miss as the Wings fell to the Senators by a score of 2-1. The chances were there for Detroit, but they were unable to convert on more than one of their 35 shots on goal. Luckily for us, they kept the game close enough to cover the +1.5-goal spread, securing Corsica’s highest probability bet of the night. This post now sits at 28-15 (65.12%) on the season.

Tonight’s slate is busier than the average Friday with six games on tap. I’ve scoured all of Corsica’s generated predictions for tonight’s NHL action and highlighted the highest value and probability bets. Good luck!

Highest Probability

Leafs @ Ducks – Spread | ANA +1.5 (-281)

According to Corsica, at a whopping 77.09%, the bet with the highest probability of hitting tonight is the Ducks covering a +1.5-goal spread against the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs are without question the better team at even strength but the goaltending matchup skews heavily in Anaheim’s favour for tonight’s game. After Frederik Andersen stopped 42 of 45 shots in the Leafs’ 5-3 win over the Sharks last night, back-up Garret Sparks is expected to be in goal for tonight’s game. Last year’s AHL Goaltender of the Year, Sparks has struggled in limited action for the Maple Leafs this season. He’s won two of his three starts despite an abysmal .879 SV%.

Expected in net for the Ducks is the great John Gibson. Gibson is the only thing keeping the Ducks above water this season, registering a .927 SV% in 16 games. He’s been able to keep his GAA from ballooning despite the Ducks giving up 36.2 shots per game, the second most in the league. The lopsided goaltending matchup should mitigate the drastic difference in offensive production from these two teams, helping the Ducks keep this one close.

Highest Value

Kings @ Blackhawks – Moneyline | LAK (+140)

There is a lot of value to be found on tonight’s slate but the Kings on the moneyline trumps them all. Corsica gives the Kings a 46.5% chance of winning tonight, fairly strong odds considering the value. The Kings have obviously unperformed this season and are down to their third and fourth goaltenders, but they have a great chance of getting back on track tonight against the Blackhawks. Chicago is a respectable team at even strength, but they’ve struggled mightily on special teams. They own the league’s fourth-worst power-play and sixth-worst penalty-kill. If the Kings can get a decent performance out of Cal Petersen in net and hold their own at 5v5, they should be able to win this hockey game.
