DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (November 29th)

The Corsica NHL betting predictions had a rare off-night on Wednesday. Scoring seemed to come at a premium between the Penguins and Avalanche before the two teams went off for four goals in the third. Corsica’s highest value bet, the under at 6.5 goals, was foiled. While Sidney Crosby’s natural hat-trick was the dagger for the under, it did seem for a time like it was going to bail out Corsica’s most probable bet, the Penguins covering +1.5. Unfortunately for the Penguins and our readers, the Avalanche scored two goals with less than thirty seconds left, one on an empty net, to make the final 6-3.

Corsica will look to bounce back on tonight’s eight-game slate. I’ve gone over their highest value and probability picks below. Surprise surprise, they’re going after the Senators again.

Highest Probability

Rangers @ Senators – Spread | NYR +1.5 (-255)

Corsica gives the Rangers a whopping 73.55% chance of finishing within one goal of the Senators tonight. Thanks to their overachieving offense, the Senators have become a recurring target of the Corsica NHL betting predictions. Simply put, this team does not create enough scoring chances to continue producing offense at this rate. Their goal production will continue to regress alongside their sky-high shooting percentage. The regression is bound to happen sooner or later, and Corsica will continue to put their money on the former.

The Rangers are expected to reunite Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad on the top line ahead of tonight’s contest. They should generate plenty of chances in their projected 5v5 matchup against the Chris Tierney line. If all else fails, Henrik Lundqvist should have no problem keeping this game close on his own. He’s won three of his last four starts, including a 4-2 victory over the Sens on Tuesday. His SV% is up to .921 on the season.

Highest Value

Rangers @ Senators – Over/Under | Under 6.5 (+104)

From a betting standpoint, this definitely seems to be the game to target tonight. Given Corsica’s lack of confidence in Ottawa’s offense, it’s no surprise to see them all in on the under tonight. As I mentioned earlier, these two teams combined for just six goals on Monday. The Senators and Flyers did go just over the mark of 6.5 goals on Tuesday, but that was a game that featured Mike McKenna and Anthony Stolarz in goal. The sturdy play of Lundqvist should keep the Senators’ fraudulent offense in check, while Craig Anderson is a clear upgrade over McKenna.

The Rangers and Senators are ranked sixth and eighth in shots per game in the NHL, respectively. If we can get a pair of respectable performances out of the two goaltenders, there’s no reason to suggest this game will even come close to 6.5 goals. Corsica gives these two teams a 61.95% chance of hitting the under tonight.
