DailyFaceoff DFS Cheat Sheet – October 26th
DFS

Below I have listed my favourite centres, wingers, defensemen and goalies for tonight’s slate of Daily Fantasy action. Each player is listed with their prices from both of the Daily Fantasy giants—DraftKings and FanDuelprices are listed as (DraftKings / FanDuel)

If you’d rather listen to me talk about my favourite #dfs plays tonight, then check out my latest “Daily Dose” segment of the DFOPodcast.

You will also find my “ideal” lineup for tonight on both of these platforms.

Centres

Mika Zibanejad – vs. BOS – $5,900 / $6,000

Zibanejad had a great start to the season, picking up two goals / four assists (6 points) in his first five games, but struggled on Sunday without Chris Kreider in the lineup. Kreider will not play again tonight, but the Rangers have a fantastic matchup—the Bruins are at the tail-end of a back-to-back and either AHL netminder Zane McIntyre or Malcolm Subban will start. Zibanejad still has talented wingers in JT Miller and Mats Zuccarello on his wing, making Zibanejad a solid option tonight.

Tomas Plekanec – @ NYI – $4,800 / $5,500

Plekanec has just three assists on the season, but is averaging near three shots and one blocked shots on goal, which gives him a decent floor for a centre at $4,800. Plekanec centres a line with Alex Radulov on the wing and I like them as a stack option tonight. Plekanec also centres the second PP-unit—averaging 1:30 TOI on the PP.

Mike Fisher – @ ANA – $4,400 / $4,800

Fisher missed Saturday’s game because of food poisoning, but he is expected to return tonight. He will likely centre a line with Filip Forsberg on his wing. Fisher has three goals, one assist and nine shots in four games this season. He is a hot option that comes in under $4,500 and is a nice value centre stacked with one of the best wingers of the night.

Wingers

Alex Ovechkin – @ EDM – $8,300 / $8,400

Ovechkin failed to record a point in his first two games, but has scored a goal in each of the last three games. Ovechkin has averaged 4.2 shots per game through five and draws a nice matchup in what should be a high-scoring affair. It doesn’t carry a ton of weight, but Ovechkin has nine goals and seven assists (16 points) in 12 career games vs. the Oilers.

Filip Forsberg – @ ANA – $6,100 / $6,900

The reason I like the Predators tonight is because they come into tonight on three days rest, while the Ducks are playing their third game in four nights. Forsberg and the entire Predators’ offence is off to a bit of a slow start, but tonight’s matchup is an exploitable one. Forsberg comes in with five assists in five games—only not recording a point in one game.

Alexander Radulov – @ NYI – $5,100 / $5,400

Radulov is off to a solid start with the Canadiens. On Monday he was moved to the top-PP and it paid off. He had one PP assist and finished the game with one goal and two assists. He is averaging just under two shots on goal per game, so you’d like to see him shoot more, but he remains a great option at $5,100.

J.T Miller – vs. BOS – $4,200 / $4,800

Miller was moved to the Rangers’ top-6 on Sunday because Chris Kreider was out and that will be the case again tonight. Miller had one goal on seven shots on Sunday and has four points (2G / 2A) and 17 shots in his first six games of the season. For $4,200 he is a great top-6 value option.

Defensemen

Shea Weber – @ NYI – $6,500 / $6,200

Weber has been on fire to start the 2016-17 season. Weber is riding a three-game point streak and has seven points (2G / 5A) and 14 shots in his first six games with the Canadiens. The Canadiens are scoring in bunches and Weber is a strong play on the blueline.

Ryan McDonagh – vs. BOS – $5,400 / $5,100

McDonagh is the only Rangers’ defenseman that you can trust in dfs circles. He hasn’t been shooting as much as you’d like to see, but he has picked assists in four straight games, for a total of five assists in four games. The Rangers matchup looks juicy, making McDonagh a good blueline option.

Ryan Ellis – @ ANA – $3,400 / $4,500

Obviously PK Subban and Roman Josi are excellent options, but Ellis is a great value pick. He has two assists in his last two games and is averaging nearly two shots and two blocks per game so far this season. He’s known for having a stable dfs floor and we all know of his offensive upside.

Goalies

Henrik Lundqvist – vs. BOS – $8,200 / $9,000

Lundqvist has limited his opponents to 2.42 goals per game early on and tonight he draws a great matchup. The Rangers have the clear edge in goal with Lundqvist going head-to-head with Zane McIntyre. The Rangers should have no problem putting a few past McIntyre and are the biggest Vegas favourites of the night. In addition to the edge in net, the Bruins are without David Backes and rank 25th in the league in scoring.

Pekka Rinne – @ ANA – $7,500 / $8,800

Rinne did not start on Saturday because of food poisoning, but he returned to practice on Monday and is expected to start on Wednesday. Rinne has posted an impressive .922 SV% through his first three games. Tonight he faces a Ducks team who, as I mentioned will be playing their third game in four nights, and could be without Ryan Getzlaf—even if Getzlaf plays, the Ducks currently rank 28th in the NHL in scoring.

Al Montoya – @ NYI – $7,800 / $8,600

Montoya hasn’t started in eight days, but will return to the crease tonight. Montoya has gone 2-0-1 while posting a 1.30 GAA and .962 SV% in his first five starts with the Habs. Montoya is off to a good-start and tonight he faces an Islanders team that has won three of four. It’s not the best matchup, but with limited goaltending options, Montoya is still a reasonable option behind a red-hot Canadiens lineup.
