DFS Lines to Target: 02/20/20

There are seven games on the slate for this Thursday night in the NHL. I’ve gone over my top high-priced and value stacks to help you out. Best of luck!

High-Priced

Washington 1 – Alex Ovechkin ($8,400), Nicklas Backstrom ($6,000), Tom Wilson ($5,000)

Alex Ovechkin will have a great chance to end his five-game goalless drought when the Capitals take on the Habs tonight. Washington’s top line will see a mix of Montreal 1 and 2 and will hold an even-strength advantage over both those lines. One reason I’m liking the idea of Ovie going off tonight is his history against Montreal. The Russian sniper has scored 32 goals in 49 career games against the Canadiens, including potting one when these two teams last met in November.

Montreal has allowed four goals in four straight games and have allowed a power-play goal in four out of five outings during their current five-game losing streak. Ovechkin and Backstrom will play on Washington’s top power-play unit quarterbacked by John Carlson, while Wilson will have value playing on PP2. With the Caps returning home after a three-game road trip and Montreal struggling defensively, there is excellent breakout potential for Washington 1 tonight.

Value Stack

Pittsburgh 1 – Jason Zucker ($5,300), Sidney Crosby ($7,900), Dominik Simon ($3,500)

There isn’t large enough of a sample size to fully assess Pittsburgh 1 in their matchup with Toronto tonight, but you just have to go back a few days ago to see how things could play out. Sidney Crosby had a goal and three assists and Jason Zucker scored on the power play to lead Pittsburgh to a 5-2 win over Toronto on Tuesday. In the prior meeting between these two teams back in November, Pittsburgh dominated the Maple Leafs and won 6-1. When you look at how Pittsburgh is playing right now compared to Toronto, it’s hard to see things changing much tonight. The Pens have won three in a row and are 12-3-1 in their past 16 games, while Toronto is 1-3-0 in their last four games.

Crosby has 11 points (three goals) during a five-game point streak, while Zucker has four points (three goals) in four games since he was traded to Pittsburgh. Simon hasn’t done much lately, but’s got 22 point on the season and has good underlying numbers when playing with Crosby. In 350 minutes of ice time together, Crosby and Simon own a 52.77 CF% and 50.71 HDCF%. With Frederik Andersen struggling and posting a .835 save percentage since returning from a neck injury, you can’t go wrong with Pittsburgh 1 tonight.
