DFS Lines to Target: 02/27/20

There are 10 games on the docket for this Thursday evening in the NHL. I’ve gone over my top high-priced, medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Good luck!

High-Priced

Tampa Bay 1 – Ondrej Palat ($4,100), Brayden Point ($6,700), Nikita Kucherov ($8,300)

Tampa Bay’s top line will have a very favorable matchup in their game against Chicago tonight. This Lightning trio owns a 59.57 CF% and 65.35 HDCF% this season and will be matched up against the Saad, Carpenter and Kane line, which owns a 45.77 CF% and 43.75 HDCF%. Tampa’s first line will also benefit from Robin Lehner being traded to Vegas at the trade deadline, as Corey Crawford is getting the call in goal and has been inconsistent of late, recently getting lit up for six goals by the Blues.

Tampa Bay is banged up right now and will be without Steven Stamkos among others for this game, so this top line will be counted on to carry the team to victory. Kucherov scored in his last outing against Toronto to extend his point streak to an insane 17 games, while Point has points in all but one of his last 13 games. Palat offers great value with three points in his last four games and 39 points (15 goals) on the season. The Czech forward will slot in on the team’s second power-play unit, while Point and Kucherov will be on PP1 tonight.

Medium-Priced

Winnipeg 1 – Kyle Connor ($5,900), Mark Scheifele ($6,600), Blake Wheeler ($5,800)

Winnipeg’s top line will be matched up against Washington’s top line tonight and it has the potential to be very high-event hockey. Connor, Scheifele and Wheeler only have a 48.52 CF% in a 90-minute sample size, but Ovechkin, Kuznetsov and Wilson have an even worse 42.81 CF% in almost 200 minutes of ice time together this season. When these teams met just a couple days ago, both Scheifele and Connor scored during regulation in a 4-3 shootout loss. Since returning from the All-Star break, the Capitals have surrendered at least three goals in all but three of their games.

Scheifele comes into this game with four goals and nine points in his last five games, while Connor has five goals in his last 10 games. Wheeler was held off the scoresheet in the first game of this home-and-home series, but the Winnipeg captain played a whopping 24:09 in the contest and had racked up three goals and six points in his previous four games. Each player in this stack will be on Winnipeg’s top power-play unit and should produce nicely against a struggling Ilya Samsonov, who is 0-3-0 with an .855 save percentage in his last four appearances.

Value Stack

Vancouver 1 – Tanner Pearson ($4,900), Bo Horvat ($5,800), Loui Eriksson ($2,700)

The Bo Horvat line for Vancouver comes at a great price in their matchup with Ottawa tonight. They’ll be matched up against the Senators’ second line of Nick Paul, Artem Anisimov and Bobby Ryan. Ryan recently returned to the Sens’ lineup, but Paul and Anisimov have put up an underwhelming 48.45 CF% when together this season. This Vancouver trio owns a 51.59 CF% and 57.84 HDCF% and should hold a significant even-strength advantage over this new-look Ottawa second line.

I’m leaning more towards a Horvat/Pearson mini-stack considering Eriksson has been held off the scoresheet in 10 of his last 11 games, but if this line piles on the offense, Eriksson could come away with a few points at a cheap price. Horvat is heating up with back-to-back multi-point outings, while Pearson has been solid all year and has scored three times in his last seven game. Ottawa has given up 15 goals during a four-game losing streak and Vancouver needs every point they can get in the playoff race. There’s no excuse for the Canucks not to get two points tonight, with the top line leading the way.
