DFS Lines to Target: 11/21/19

After a quiet Wednesday night in the NHL, it’s back to regular business. Thursday night features another massive 13-game slate with plenty of value to be found. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, mid-range, and value stack to help you out. Best of luck!

High-Priced

Boston 1 – Brad Marchand ($8,000), Patrice Bergeron ($7,400), David Pastrnak ($8,500)

Patrice Bergeron is set to return to this lethal Bruins first line that has been dominating opponents this season. Bergeron  has eight goals and 19 points in 19 games this season, while Marchand is coming off a three-assist game and Pastrnak is come off a two-goal game. This line will be matched up against a trio of Jack Eichel, Jimmy Vesey and Sam Reinhart. Eichel and Reinhart have played almost 300 minutes together this season and have a 50 CF%, while the “perfection” line has been one of the NHL’s best at 5v5.

The Sabres are struggling (1-6-2 in past 9) and are currently employing a lacklustre penalty kill that has operated at just 75.8 percent efficiency this season. Boston’s top line is going to do damage at both even-strength and on the power play, especially considering Buffalo starting netminder Carter Hutton has been torched for 14 goals in his last three games.

Medium-Priced

Dallas 1 – Jamie Benn ($5,300), Justin Dowling ($3,400), Tyler Seguin ($7,200)

Tyler Seguin comes with a hefty price tag tonight, but his linemates offer great value in this stack considering their recent production. Benn is in the middle of a three-game point streak in which he’s recorded three goals and three assists, while Dowling has scored three goals and fired seven shots on goal over his last four games. This line makes for a good stack against the Jets because they will see a mix of Winnipeg’s top three lines — neither of which has been very good at even-strength this season.

The Stars are one of the league’s hottest teams and have home-ice advantage in this matchup. They’ve won four straight contests and are 8-0-1 in their past nine games, outscoring opponents 36-17 during the span. This top line has come alive for the Stars after a slow start and should feast on a mediocre Winnipeg defense. Benn and Seguin should also do damage on the top power-play unit against a Jets’ PK that ranks sixth-worst in the NHL with just 74.5 % efficiency. Dowling doesn’t see power-play time, but he’s priced nice tonight and will get his chances at 5v5 playing alongside two studs.

Value Stack

Toronto 3 – Alexander Kerfoot ($3,100), Jason Spezza ($2,700), Kasperi Kapanen ($3,800)

When a coach is fired, it usually serves as a wake-up call for the team. I expect a big game from the Maple Leafs tonight after head coach Mike Babcock was dismissed by the organization on Wednesday. The second line with John Tavares isn’t too expensive, but it’s the third-line trio that offers the best value. Spezza has scored in back-to-back games, while Kapanen has struck twice in his last four contests. Kerfoot is returning from injury and has contributed a respectable five goals and eight points in 20 games this season.

This trio will see a mix of Arizona’s top nine, and only their top line has been outchancing opponents this season. This Maple Leafs’ third line hasn’t been put together much this season, but it has a good blend of speed and skill. The speedsters Kerfoot and Kapanen have a 56.86 CF% in almost 50 minutes of ice time together, while Spezza and Kapanen have a 57.50 CF% in the same sample size. Arizona is the the top-ranked defensive team in the league, but this Toronto line has the tools to deliver in the first game under Sheldon Keefe.
