DFS Lines to Target: 12/19/19

There are 10 games on the slate tonight in the NHL. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, mid-priced and value stack to help you out. Best of luck!

High-Priced

Vegas 1 – Jonathan Marchessault ($6,500), William Karlsson ($6,200), Reilly Smith ($5,200)

Vegas has yet to lose in regulation to the Canucks since they entered the league and are catching them at an opportune time on Thursday. The Canucks have lost four of their last five games and have surrendered four or more goals in three of those defeats. These two teams met Sunday with Mark Stone’s line carrying the team to a 6-3 victory. I expect the top line to have their turn tonight.

This Golden Knights trio owns a 54.69 CF% and will mostly be matched up against the Bo Horvat, Tanner Pearson and Josh Leivo line, which gives up plenty of scoring chances. Karlsson, Marchessault and Smith each have at least 24 points through 37 games and hold great value due to their role on the first power-play unit. Vegas has the seventh-best power-play percentage in the league and they’ll go to work against a Canucks PK that is ranked in the bottom half of the NHL.

Medium-Priced

Winnipeg 2 – Nikolaj Ehlers ($5,000), Blake Wheeler ($6,000), Jack Rosolvic ($2,900)

Winnipeg’s second line has a solid matchup going up against Chicago’s third line of Alex DeBrincat, Kirby Dach and Ryan Carpenter. That line hasn’t been put together much this season, but DeBrincat and Dach own an underwhelming 44.12 CF% together in a small sample size. This Jets line has been dominating possession thanks to have a great mix of speed and skill. Ehlers, Wheeler and Rosolvic own a 55.56 CF% together in almost 200 minutes of ice time.

Rosolvic is priced nicely tonight considering he potted his seventh goal of the season on Tuesday against Carolina. Wheeler is on fire right now with seven points in his last five games, while Ehlers has gotten on the scoresheet in back-to-back games and is up to 14 goals and 26 points in 34 games on the year The Blackhawks have surrendered three of more goals in all but one of their last 11 games and don’t have the defense to shut down this very productive Jets’ unit tonight.

Value Stack

Nashville 1 – Yakov Trenin ($2,800), Ryan Johansen ($4,300), Calle Jarnkrok ($4,700)

Nashville has a new-look first line that looked very dangerous in a blowout win over the Islanders on Tuesday. Jarnkrok, who leads all Preds forwards in scoring, had a goal and two assists, Johansen had a a goal and an assist and Trenin added in a helper. I like their chances of continuing the momentum tonight against a Senators team that has suffered consecutive losses and allowed 10 goals in those games.

Jarnkrok and Johansen have played over 200 minutes together this season and own a solid 51.58 CF% together. Trenin has two points (1G, 1A) in his first five career NHL games after netting 14 goals in 19 games for AHL Milwaukee before his call-up. While this Nashville trio will mainly be matched up against the Brady Tkachuk and Jean-Gabriel Pageau line, which has been Ottawa’s best at even-strength, the Sens’ lackluster defensive play (3.20 GA/GP) means Nashville’s top line should still get plenty of chances. Johansen and Jarnkrok also earn their value due their role on the first power-play unit.

*UPDATE: Jarnkrok didn’t skate Thursday morning in Ottawa and is questionable to play. Make sure he’s confirmed to be IN before putting him in your lineup.
