Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

  • Goal = +3 PTS
  • Assist = +2 PTS
  • Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
  • Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
  • Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
  • Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
  • Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

  • Win = +3 PTS
  • Save = +0.2 PTS
  • Goal Against = -1 PTS
  • Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

  • Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
  • The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight.

Centres

Sidney Crosby – vs. NYR – $8,100

There are no words to describe what Sidney Crosby is doing to the NHL right now. Everyone who said he was done or wasn’t good anymore has woke up the sleeping giant. He comes into tonight on an 11 game point streak and that streak consists of six multi-point games. He has 12 goals and 10 assists (22 points) during the 11 game streak and there’s no way to keep him out of your lineup on such a small slate. Everyone’s going to have him and if he goes off and you don’t…Ouch.

Pavel Datsyuk – vs. OTT – $6,000

Let me start by reminding you that I am a Red Wings fan and I watch every game. And I can’t begin to tell you how happy I was when they finally put Pavel Datstuk and Henrik Zetterberg back together. And I can’t begin to tell you how good they have looked together since then. Datsyuk has two goals and two assists (7.25 FPPG) in his last two games and the Red Wings face the Senators and their 28th ranked 3.07 goals against per game.

Henrik Zetterberg – vs. OTT – $5,600

As I just mentioned, Zetterberg and Datsyuk are back together and they are known as the “Euro Twins” up in Detroit. Zetterberg had two assists on Monday and has two goals and four assists in his last seven games (3.79 FPPG). With a small slate your options are limited and the Red Wings matchup makes their top line an intriguing option.

Value Options: J.T Miller – @ PIT – $4,500 / J.G Pageau – @ DET – $3,700

Wingers

Mats Zuccarello – @ PIT – $5,900

Zuccarello has played very well since Rick Nash was injured, picking up one goal and four assists in six games since the injury. He comes in on a three-game point streak (4 assists) and has averaged 4.08 DraftKings points since Nash was hurt.

Tomas Tatar – vs OTT – $5,000

When DraftKings players swing over to DailyFaceoff to check out the Red Wings’ Line Combination page, they’ll see Tomas Tatar on the third line and probably be scared off, so his owned percentage could be low tonight. However, since the All-Star break, Tatar has been on a four-game point streak, picking up two goals and three assists. $5,000 is cheap price to pay for a guy averaging 4.5 FPPG since the break.

Chris Kunitz – vs. NYR – $4,700

We’ve become accustom to seeing Kunitz pick up points in bunches when Sidney Crosby is playing well and right now is no different. Everyone’s favourite Fantasy Sidekick has five goals and seven assists (12 points) in his last nine games and he comes much cheaper than Patric Hornqvist.

Value Options: Shane Doan – vs. VAN – $4,500 / Carl Hagelin – vs. NYR – $3,900

Defensemen

Kris Letang – vs. NYR – $6,700

Henrik Lundqvist has been playing great as of late, but the Penguins come in like a freight train. I watched the Penguins win over the Ducks on Monday and Letang did an exceptional job getting pucks to the net, but you would never know with his one shot on goal. He is on the ice a lot with Sidney Crosby and sometimes acts like an extra winger, who comes in with with an incredible eight goals and 16 assists (24 points) in his last 16 games. That’s no small sample size.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson – vs. VAN – $6,100

Neither the Canucks or Coyotes are scoring a lot right now, so it’s hard to see that being a high scoring game. Which leaves me to look at O.E.L as the only guy to spend money on in this contest. He is the Coyotes best player and he shoots quite a bit which offers a stable floor. He has one goal and three assists in his last two games and has scored at least two fantasy points in seven of his last eight.

Cody Ceci – @ DET – $3,900

Ceci hast had a nice run of production recently, picking up two goals and six assists (eight points) in his last 10 games. The Senators added Dion Phaneuf to their lineup on Tuesday and he will play with Ceci tonight. Lack of chemistry is a concern, but with a $3,900 price tag, there’s a lot of upside here.

Value Options: Ben Hutton – @ ARI – $3,100 / Jakub Kindl – vs. OTT – $2,600

Goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury – vs. NYR – $8,100

With the way Crosby and the Penguins are playing, it is hard to trust Lundqvist tonight, so I feel safe rolling with Fleury. He has won six of his last seven starts with a 2.78 GAA, which was skewed by being pulled vs. the Lightning.

Petr Mrazek – vs. OTT – $7,900

Mrazek currently leads the NHL in GAA, SV% and AdSV%. He has quickly become a Vezina Candidate and is coming off of a shutout on Monday. Craig Anderson has struggled against the Red Wings in his career, which bodes well for Mrazek.

Louis Domingue – vs. VAN – $6,600

It’s hard to predict a winner in this one, but I’ll go with the team that has been resting since last Friday versus the team who played last night. Domingue has given up 15 goals in his last three starts, but was red-hot before that. Hopefully the time off let him restart and he is ready to go vs. the Canucks.
