Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

  • Goal = +3 PTS
  • Assist = +2 PTS
  • Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
  • Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
  • Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
  • Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
  • Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

  • Win = +3 PTS
  • Save = +0.2 PTS
  • Goal Against = -1 PTS
  • Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

  • Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
  • The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight.

Centres

John Tavares – @ NJ – $8,000

Tavares was one of the players most people expected to have a big second half and he has delivered in nine games since the All-Star break. He has picked up six goals,  seven assists (13 points) and 5.67 DraftKings points per game (FPPG) in those nine contests. In his only appearance vs. the Devils this season, Tavares cashed in with a goal.

Claude Giroux – @ MTL – $6,800

Giroux has two goals, eight assists (10 points) and 4.1 FPPG in nine games since the All-Star break. He had three assists on Tuesday in New Jersey and his line (Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds) makes for an affordable stack with an excellent matchup—Montreal has lost three straight while allowing an average of 5.00 goals per game.

Brayden Schenn – @ MTL – $4,500

Schenn was moved to the Flyers’ top line on Tuesday and he collected three points (1G / 2A) and nine DraftKings points. Schenn has 34 points (17G / 17A) in 54 games this season and has picked up three goals and two assists in his last four games. At $4,500, it will be hard to find a better value option playing on a top line.

Value Options: Jordan Staal – vs. SJ – $4,100 / Alex Wennberg – vs. BUF – $3,900 / Lars Eller – vs. PHI – $3,200

Wingers

Wayne Simmonds – @ MTL – $6,600

Simmonds is the third member of the Flyers’ top line—he had one goal and one assist on Tuesday and has seven goals and two assists (nine points) in his last nine games. Simmonds is a high-end goal scorer who is one of the league’s best at cashing in with the man-advantage; the Habs are averaging nearly three penalties per game since the All-Star break, but are killing those penalties off at a 78.3% clip.

Boone Jenner – vs. BUF – $5,100

Jenner hasn’t had a tonne of luck since the All-Star break, picking up just two goals in seven games, but his high shot volume has kept his fantasy value afloat—having averaged 3.2 FPPG in those seven contests. The Blue Jackets draw a strong matchup against the Sabres, who have lost five of seven and have given up 3.14 goals per game over that span.

Cam Atkinson – vs. BUF – $5,000

While Jenner hasn’t been great, Atkinson has. He has two goals, three assists and 4.1 FPPG. The Sabres aren’t great defensively, making Atkinson and other members of the Blue Jackets’ roster strong options tonight. Like Jenner, Atkinson’s high shot volume provides him with a stable Daily Fantasy floor.

Value Options: Jannik Hansen – @ CGY – $4,000 / Sven Baertschi – @ CGY – $3,200 / Phil Di Giuseppe – vs. SJ – $3,100

Defensemen

Shayne Gostisbehere – @ MTL – $5,600

Gostisbehere is riding a ridiculous 13-game point streak, which includes three goals, seven assists (10 points) and 4.2 FPPG since the break. It is hard not to like the Flyers tonight and if you’re going Flyers, you need to go Gostisbehere.

Johnny Boychuk – @ NJ – $5,400

Boychuk has two goals, three assists and 3.7 FPPG in seven games since returning to the Islanders lineup on February 6th. He is averaging over two shots per game and nearly two blocks per game, providing him with a safe floor at $5,400.

David Savard – vs. BUF – $4,000

Savard has no points, but has five shots, six blocks and 2.75 FPPG in two games since returning from an oblique injury on February 13th. Savard has been known for blocking a lot of shots and logging big minutes, so he is a safe, cheap option on the back-end tonight.

Value Options: Jacob Slavin – vs. SJ – $3,700 / Ben Hutton – @ CGY – $3,600 / David Schlemko – vs. NYI – $3,600

Goalies

Jaroslav Halak – @ NJ – $7,300

Halak is coming off of a brutal outing vs. the Hurricanes, but gets a chance to bounce back tonight vs. the Devils. Halak has gone 1-0-1 with a  1.44 GAA and .927 SV% in his first two starts against New Jersey this season.

Michal Neuvirth – @ MTL – $7,300

Neuvirth didn’t have the strongest outing on Tuesday, but still walked away with the W. He is 12-6-3 with a2.17 GAA and .930 SV% on the year and he draws a tremendous matchup in Montreal—the Habs have lost three in a row while being outscored 15-8.

Joonas Korpisalo – vs. BUF – $7,100

Korpisalo stood tall in the Blue Jackets’ OT loss to the Bruins on Tuesday and is now 8-1-3 with a 1.94 GAA and .942 SV% in his last 12 starts. He has been a revelation for the Blue Jackets, who draw a great matchup with the Sabres in town.
