DraftKings Fantasy Hockey Cheat Sheet: February 26th

DraftKings Fantasy Hockey Cheat Sheet: February 26th
cheat-sheet

Friday’s Daily Hockey slate always seems to be the most interesting and tonight is no different. Four of tonight’s 10 teams are playing in their second game of a back-to-back, which means we could see a lot of backups.

Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

  • Goal = +3 PTS
  • Assist = +2 PTS
  • Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
  • Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
  • Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
  • Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
  • Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

  • Win = +3 PTS
  • Save = +0.2 PTS
  • Goal Against = -1 PTS
  • Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

  • Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
  • The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight.

Centres

Steven Stamkos – @ NJ – $7,200

This is the Stamkos I expected to see all season long. Big dollars are waiting for him at the end of the season and he’s starting to remind us that he is worth it. He has a four-game goal scoring streak and 26 on the season. He draws a plus-matchup tonight in New Jersey—the Devils played last night and both goaltenders struggled, look for Stammer to take advantage of that.

Logan Couture – vs. BUF – $6,300

Couture had nine points (3G / 6A) in 15 games before the All-Star break, but has been on fire since the break. He has collected 12 points (5G /7A) in his last 11 games and has averaged 17:52 TOI despite being listed on the “third line.” His status on that line should keep his owned percentage down, but don’t be fooled he is red-hot with a great matchup tonight.

Ryan Getzlaf – vs. EDM – $6,000

Getzlaf picked up an assist on Wednesday, extending his point streak to nine games—he has four goals, 10 assists and 5.1 DraftKings points per game over that stretch. He has put his slow first half behind him and is shredding the NHL right now. Tonight he has a strong matchup vs. the Oilers, who has dominated in his career and they also come in on the wrong-end of a back-to-back with Anders Nilsson expected to start in net.

Wingers

Loui Eriksson – @ CAR – $5,600

Eriksson is looking for a big payday to stay with the Bruins before the deadline and what better way to show you deserve it than produce on the ice. Eriksson has seven goals and one assist in his last eight games and tonight he faces a Hurricanes team that lost to the Maple Leafs last night. He is averaging 4.6 FPPG over that eight-game stretch, so he should be a safe option on the wing tonight.

Ryan Callahan – @ NJ – $4,900

Callahan is currently playing on the Lightning’s top line with Stamkos as well as the top power-play unit. He is not an elite goal scorer, but being put in those spots has seen him earn three goals and three assists (4.6 FPPG) over his last five games. At $4,900 he is a good value winger to pair with Stamkos.

David Pastrnak – @ CAR – $4,300

Pastrnak plays the wing opposite Eriksson and is coming off of a two-goal, seven shot (10 FP) performance on Wednesday. He has four points (2G / 2A) in his last two games and is a fantastic option playing in the Bruins top-six at just $4,300.

Defensemen

Brent Burns – vs. BUF – $8,200

I’m sure you guys are sick of seeing Burns’ name on these cheat sheets, but when the Sharks draw a strong matchup I can’t help it. He has three points in his last three games and is averaging 4.9 DraftKings points over the last month. He is easily the best option on the blueline, it’s just a matter of fitting him under the cap.

Torey Krug – @ CAR – $5,700

Krug comes in with four assists and 14 shots (3.1 FPPG) over his last four games. The Bruins offence has been clicking lately and Krug is their top option on the blueline. He shoots a lot which provides him with that stable floor I always talk about and has the upside to go off if the Bruins start scoring, which they should get Carolina, who’s on a back-to-back.

Sami Vatanen – vs. EDM – $5,100

Vatanen was included in Wednesday’s cheat sheet and he scored the Ducks only goal in a 1-0 shutout win. He now has three goals and three assists (six points) in his last eight games. He has consistently been between 3 and 5 fantasy points over that stretch which is great consistency from a mid-level priced defenseman.

Goalies

Tuukka Rask – @ CAR – $8,200

Rask is coming off of a masterful performance against the Penguins on Wednesday and tonight he faces an offence that is far less potent. Rask has gone 13-5-3 with a2.10 GAA and .932 SV% on the road this season and the Hurricanes were in action last night, like I said, losing to the Maple Leafs. If Toronto torn-down lineup can beat the ‘Canes, then the Bruins sure as hell can.

Frederik Andersen – vs. EDM – $7,600

Andersen is coming off of a shutout vs. the Sabres on Wednesday and faces an Oilers team tonight that has lost six consecutive games. Andersen has won four in a row while posting a 2.47 GAA and .915 SV%, so he should be safe to trust in daily leagues tonight.

Martin Jones – vs. BUF – $7,500

Jones was on the wrong end of a shootout on Wednesday but did stop 41 pucks. He has given up a combined 10 goals in his last three starts, but has won five of his last seven. With the Sabres in town without Ryan O’Reilly, they offer a very strong matchup for Jones and your DraftKings lineup.
