Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

  • Goal = +3 PTS
  • Assist = +2 PTS
  • Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
  • Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
  • Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
  • Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
  • Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

  • Win = +3 PTS
  • Save = +0.2 PTS
  • Goal Against = -1 PTS
  • Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

  • Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
  • The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight.

Centres

Sean Monahan – vs. CBJ – $5,900

I was pissed at myself on Wednesday. I was initially going to put Monahan’s line in the cheat sheet, but then for one terrible second I bought into Eddie Lack and the Hurricanes. Monahan went on to put up four points (1G / 3A) and 10.5 DraftKings points. Sorry guys. Well… Lesson learned. The Blue Jackets played last night, which means Anton Forsberg might start, so I’m going with some Flames tonight.

Ryan Getzlaf – vs. ARI – $5,600

The blizzard in Washington seemed to spark Getzlaf’s play. Yeah, that didn’t make munch sense. How could a blizzard spark something? Dumbass. Whether it made sense or not, Getzlaf has one goal and five assists on a four-game point streak and has 11 points (1G / 10A) in his last 10 contests. With Anders Lindback starting for the Coyotes, there’s a lot to like about the Ducks. However, their jumbled lines make it hard to stack one line.

Ryan Kesler – vs. ARI – $4,800

The cure for not being able to stack one specific line? There’s two actually. The first: Anders Lindback starting in goal. The second: Pick all the Ducks. Done. Unfortunately you can’t take Adam Banks, but Ryan Kesler seems like the same kind of guy, so I’ll roll with him. After being useless in 2015, Kesler has seven goals and five assists (12 points) in 2016 (13 games). He’s been red-hot and his price tag is fabulous.

Value Options: Elias Lindholm – @ WPG – $4,000 / Vladislav Namestnikov – vs. PIT – $4,000 / Matt Cullen – @ TB – $2,800

Wingers

Johnny Gaudreau – vs. CBJ – $7,100

When you read I was going to take some Flames tonight above you had to know Johnny Hockey was going to be on here. Johnny Football is a meat head, but our version of Johnny is a beauty. He has a point-per-game this season and 13 points in his last (5G / 8A) 12 games. The tired Blue Jackets present a nice matchup for a Flames team who plays very well on home ice.

Corey Perry – vs. ARI – $6,500

Let the parade of Ducks continue. Perry was the one guy who has actually been serviceable all season long. He has three goals and two assists in four games since the blizzard in Washington. He averages near three shots per game and if he takes at least three on our pal Lindback, one is bound to go in (sorry to Anders’ family if you read DFO).

Nikita Kucherov – vs. PIT – $6,500

The Penguins are playing great hockey, but they’re super banged up heading into tonight which makes them all the more susceptible to giving up goals. Kucherov isn’t on the Stamkos line anymore, but that hasn’t slowed him down and it also makes it cheaper to stack him with his line mates (ideally Tyler Johnson). Kucherov has 22 goals on the season and has picked up eight of them with six assists (14 points) in his last 13 games.

Value Options: Nikolaj Ehlers – vs. CAR – $4,200 / Chris Stewart – vs. ARI – $4,100 / Jiri Hudler – vs. CBJ – $4,000

Defensemen

Mark Giordano – vs. CBJ – $6,800

Giordano did not have the best start to the season, but what he’s done since Christmas has been unreal. He has picked up five goals and 11 assists (16 points) in 15 games since the Christmas break. He is an elite option on the blueline with a great matchup.

Dustin Byfuglien – vs. CAR – $6,600

Byfuglien might not be a Winnipeg Jet for too much longer, but he is tonight and that comes with a great matchup. Byfuglien has four goals and one assist (7.5 FPPG) in his last there games, so he comes in one a high. With Cam Ward getting back in goal for the first time since January 15th, Bigg Buff offers a lot of upside on the back-end.

Hampus Lindholm – vs. ARI – $4,100

Lindholm has been a victim of the Ducks lack of offence this season, but he comes in with goals in back-to-back games and four points, 20 shots and 3.9 FPPG over his last eight games. Things are looking up for the young blueliner, who again…has a fantastic matchup tonight.

Value Options: Cam Fowler – vs. ARI – $3,900 / Ryan Murphy – @ WPG – $2,700

Goalies

Ben Bishop – vs. PIT – $7,700

With Evegeni Malkin, Nick Bonino, Beau Bennett and Eric Fehr all out, the Penguins entire bottom-6 consists of players who started the season in the AHL. Sure their top line is red hot  (finally), but so is the entire Lightning team and Ben Bishop. There are other goalies with better matchups which should keep Bishop’s owned percentage way down.

Karri Ramo – vs. CBJ – $7,500

Like Monahan and Gaudreau, I originally had Ramo pencilled into Wednesday’s cheat sheet. I ended up including Eddie Lack *ducks* and Ramo posted 7.6 fantasy points. It was a mistake and it won’t happen again! *stands back up*. Ramo has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.31 GAA and .924 SV% in his last five. One of those wins came against the Blue Jackets—he made 27 saves in a win for 6.4 fantasy points.

Frederik Andersen – vs. ARI – $7,100

The Coyotes have lost three in a row while giving up 15 combined goals, so Andersen should get a tonne of goal support tonight (something that he has rarely had this season). He comes in having won four in a row with a 1.75 GAA and .939 SV%, so you can feel safe rolling Andersen tonight. Just remember, so will a lot of other people.
