Here’s a quick explanation on how to build your lineup an play! You have $50,000 in Salary space, to build a team that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1G and 1 Util. Below you will find how skaters and goalies scoring works!

• Players will accumulate points as follows:

  • Goal = +3 PTS
  • Assist = +2 PTS
  • Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
  • Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
  • Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
  • Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
  • Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

• Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

  • Win = +3 PTS
  • Save = +0.2 PTS
  • Goal Against = -1 PTS
  • Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

• Goalie Scoring Notes:

  • Goalies WILL receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
  • The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.

Below I’ve listed my top DFS line stacks, defensemen and goalies as well as a few sample DraftKings lineup for tonight.

Centres

Mika Zibanejad – vs. NYI – $4,300

With Kyle Turris sidelined with an injury, Zibanejad becomes the No. 1 centre and he comes in riding a three-game point streak having registered two goals and two assists over that stretch. The Senators are on a back-to-back and got blown out last night, which isn’t ideal, but Zibanejad’s $4,300 salary is hard to ignore.

Henrik Zetterberg – @ BUF – $5,700

The Red Wings goal scoring as fallen asleep recently, so they’ve reunited the Zetterberg-Larkin-Abdlekader trio in an attempt to wake it up. They were very effective earlier in the season and they draw a superb matchup tonight in Buffalo.

Dylan Larkin – @ BUF – $5,400

Larkin has been held off of the scoresheet for two straight games, but has one goal and five assists in his last nine games. He plays with a tonne of energy every night and his movement back to the top line should bring out his full complement of skills tonight.

Wingers

Patrick Kane – @ FLA – $9,100

Kane has become virtually matchup-proof this season and tonight’s matchup offers some extra incentive. Since their long winning streak ended, the Panthers have been in a tail-spin and the Blackhawks will look to get back to their winning ways tonight. Kane has five goals and four assists (nine points) in his last four games…For real.

Rick Nash – @ CAR – $7,000

I’m not a big fan of Nash and I’m pretty sure this is the first time he has ever been featured on this cheat sheet, but he comes in with four assists and 18 shots in his last three games and has averaged 4.5 shots per game over his last eight without scoring. He has to score eventually and meeting the Hurricanes on the second half of a back-to-back is a nice setup.

Bobby Ryan – vs. NYI – $5,500

Ryan has two goals and two assists over the same three-game span as Zibanejad. They have heated up and will be relied on heavily again tonight. Ryan shoots a fair bit and the Islanders have not been playing great hockey as of late. I like Ryan and Zibanejad to connect for one tonight.

Defensemen

Duncan Keith – @ FLA – $6,000

Keith has six assists, 18 shots and 10 blocks (3.3 FPPG) over his last eight games and the Blackhawks juicy matchup has me looking his way tonight. He is expensive for a D-man but not in the Erik Karlsson range. If you have a little extra to spend, Keith is your guy.

Ryan McDonagh – @ CAR – $4,900

McDonagh doesn’t have to score to produce on DraftKings. He blocks a lot of shots and comes in with six assists in his last eight games. Over that stretch he has put up 5.5, 4, 2, 6, 4 and 4 DraftKings points. That kind of consistency is encouraging on the blueline and worthy of a spot in my lineups.

Nick Holden – vs. STL – $3,900

Am I a fan of Nick Holden? Nope. But his 3.5 FPPG over his last eight contests is hard to ignore. He only has three goals on the season but has blocked nearly a shot per game over that eight game stretch and has had games where he has logged four or five shots. At $3,900, he is a decent dart-throw tonight.

Goalies

Brian Elliott – @ COL – $8,000

Elliott has won three consecutive games and has gone 5-1-2 with a 2.24 GAA and .932 SV% in January. Elliott has been excellent with Jake Allen sidelined. Tonight he’ll face an Avalanche team that has won three of four despite averaging just 2.00 goals per game

Henrik Lundqvist – @ CAR – $7,800

Lundqvist has won three of his last four starts while posting a 1.70 GAA and .942 SV%. Tonight Lundqvist will take on a Hurricanes team that has won five of their last seven, but they are on the tail end of a back-to-back.

Petr Mrazek – @ BUF – $7,600

Mrazek is 5-1-1 with a 1.41 GAA and .951 SV% in the month of January and tonight he faces the Sabres who he is 2-1-0 with a 2.96 GAA and .907 SV% against this season
