UPDATE: DraftKings Ideal One-Day Lineup – February 6th
Welcome back poolies, I hope you guys won some cash with DraftKings last weekend! It is that time of the week again already. Each Friday and Saturday we will bring you a DraftKings contest as well as my ideal lineup to help you win some money.

DraftKings lineups are made up of eight skaters and one goalie. Each player is allotted a salary based off of performance and you have $50,000 to build the best team possible that consists of 2C, 3W, 2D, 1UTIL and 1G.
Players will accumulate points as follows:
Goal = +3 pts
Assist = +2 pts
Shot on goal = +0.5 pts
Blocked Shot = +0.5 pts
Short Handed Point = +1 pts
Shootout Goal = +0.2 pts
Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 pts
Goalies will accumulate points as follows:
Win = +3 pts
Save = +0.2 pts
Goal Against = -1 pts
Shutout Bonus = +2 pts
(Goalies WILL also receive skater points, if they score a goal or record an assist)
To help you build the ideal one-day lineup here are my top centres, wingers, defensemen, goalies and value picks for the February 6th games.
NOTE: Because most goalies are not confirmed until the day-of, this post will be updated on Friday with my top one-day goalie starts.
CENTRES
Ryan Kesler ($6,300) – @ WSH
With Ryan Getzlaf likely out with a lower-body injury, Kesler’s status is elevated. The Ducks take on the Capitals who will also be on the tail-end of a back-to-back, which means that Justin Peters or Philipp Grubauer should get the nod. Kesler has two goals and four assists in the last six games.
David Backes ($5,800) – @ CBJ
Backes was held off of the scoresheet on Sunday and Tuesday and that saw his salary drop from $7,700 to $5,800 over the last week. That makes Backes a steal having scored eight goals with eight assists (16 points) in his last 11 games and with a strong matchup against Curtis McElhinney.
Jonathan Toews ($5, 400) – @ WPG
Toews is not a point-per-game player, but he has been over the last month and a bit, registering 18 points (3G / 15A) in his last 17 games. On Friday he will face a Jets team who have given up an average of 4.6 goals per game on their current five-game losing skid. Expect that to continue with Toews and the boys in town.
WINGERS
Corey Perry ($9,000) – @ WPG
You are probably going to want to snag one of Perry, Alex Ovechkin or Patrick Kane and I think Perry is the best option of the three. Like I said, it is a great matchup, especially if Peters or Grubauer gets the nod. Perry has six goals and five assists in eight games prior to Thursday.
T.J Oshie ($6,100) – @ CBJ
Oshie is the cheapest of the prominent Blues’ wingers and he enters play with three goals and five assists in his last eight games. With McElhinney between the pipes, Backes and Oshie should get on the score board in this one.
David Perron ($4,800) – @ CGY
Perron is averaging exactly four shots per game since being traded to the Penguins, which is way up from the 1.95 shots he was averaging with Edmonton. He is a permanent fixture on Crosby’s line and I will take someone with his skill on Crosby’s line for $4,800 all day.
Brandon Saad ($4,700) – @ WPG
Saad has been held of off the scoresheet post All Star break, but had five goals and two assists in the six games prior. Despite the four-game pointless streak, he has fired 3.5 shots per game, including one night with seven shots. With a solid 12.0% shooting percentage, the goals are lurking and it could come Friday vs. a Jets team struggling to keep the puck out of their net.
DEFENSEMEN
Mike Green ($5,900) – vs. ANA
Green has been sizzling lately, registering one goal and eight assists in his last eight games. With the Ducks in action on Thursday, there is a chance that Ilya Bryzgalov will get the call on Friday and you know what that means! Goals, goals, goals.
Sami Vatanen ($4,600) – @ WSH
A lot of talk about these back-up goalies, but for good reason. If it is Bryz vs. Peters the goals should be easy to come by. Vatanen leads the Ducks blue line in points with 31. He has one goal and four assists in his last nine games before Thursday.
David Rundblad ($2,900) – @ WPG
Rundblad has been playing with Duncan Keith lately and has collected two goals, one assist and nine shots in his last six games. Playing with Keith and a quality matchup in Winnipeg could help Rundblad produce a few fantasy points for a cheap price tag.
VALUE PICKS
Marcus Johansson ($3,700) – vs. ANA
Johansson has four assists in his last six games but he has been moved to the Capitals top line with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, which gives him as good of a chance as anyone to pick up points on a one-day basis.
Rickard Rakell ($2,600) – @ WSH
Rakell has been taking advantage of limited playing time on the Ducks third line. He has two goals and four assists in his last five games and with Getzlaf likely out, Rakell will be bumped up in the lineup.
GOALIES
Brian Elliott ($9,300) – @ CBJ
Elliott has won five in a row while posting a 1.76 GAA and .940 SV%. He is the priciest goalie on the market tonight, but he is the safest option. He takes on a Blue Jackets team who have lost four of five while scoring just eight goals (1.60 G/PG).
Cory Schneider ($8,600) – vs. TOR
Schneider has gone 6-2-1 with a 1.78 GAA and .941 SV% in nine starts since the calendar flipped to 2015. He has been as good as the Maple Leafs have been bad in 2015. Schneider is also 2-0-0 with a 1.93 GAA and .935 SV% against Toronto this season.
Corey Crawford ($8,100) – @ WPG
Crawford hasn’t been great as of late, going 2-4-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .907 SV% in his last six, but as bad as he has been, Michael Hutchinson and the Jets have been worse. Winnipeg enters play with a ton of distractions and on a five-game losing streak where they have been outscored 23-11.
