Fantasy Hockey: Daily Goalie Rankings – 10/20/22

Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily.

We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals.

In addition to the Starting Goalies Rankings table, we will have a write-up about the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Keep an eye on our Starting Goalies page to make sure the goalies listed below are CONFIRMED to start.

Goalie Rankings

With 12 games on the NHL schedule tonight, chances are you won’t need to stream any goalies. However, if you do, or your secondary options have tough matchups, here are tonight’s best streaming options.

Streaming Targets 🎯

Jake Allen (MTL) – 38% Rostered

Allen may not be the best streaming option on most nights, but with the Canadiens drawing the lowly Arizona Coyotes at home on Thursday, he makes a very solid choice for those looking to pick up a likely win. Allen shouldn’t be a threat to hurt your goaltending splits as Arizona currently sits 30th in the NHL in shots per game with 23.7 and 19th in the NHL in average goals-per-game (3.0). The netminder is well rested after missing Montreal’s game on Monday due to parental leave. He brings an impressive .943 SV% and 2.03 GAA into Thursday’s matchup, making him the best available streaming option on the day as Montreal hopes to add a win to their 2-2-0 starting record.

Adin Hill (VGK) – 6% Rostered

Usually, Winnipeg is not the first team to attack when it comes to streaming goalies, but with them coming off a 4-3 overtime victory to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night, they will likely have David Rittich manning their crease as they battle their tired legs all night. Hill gets the honour of starting for the Golden Knights, his second taste of action after stopping 31 of 33 shots in a 5-2 debut win over the Seattle Kraken. Due to the strong play of Logan Thompson, Hill’s own percentage has stayed low, making him an excellent selection, available in almost all leagues if you are trying to stream a goalie start with Thursday’s heavy schedule.
