Flyers trade Jordan Weal to Arizona

The Philadelphia Flyers have made a minor trade after recently ending an eight-game losing streak.

The team announced Friday they have traded forward Jordan Weal to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for blueliner Jacob Graves and a sixth-round draft pick in 2019.

Weal has registered three goals and nine points in 28 games with the Flyers this season. The 26-year-old set a career high with eight goals and 21 points in 69 games last season, but has yet to play over 70 games in a single season. Over four seasons with the Flyers, he’s recorded 19 goals and 42 points in 124 regular-season games.

Drafted by the Kings in the third round (No. 70) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Weal was originally acquired by the Flyers in the 2016 trade with Los Angeles that saw Vincent Lecavalier and Luke Schenn shipped to California.

Graves is considered an AHL defenseman and is currently playing for the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, where he has seven points in 32 games.
