“Good chance” Perron returns for Game 4

“Good chance” Perron returns for Game 4

Vegas Golden Knights winger David Perron sat out of Games 2 and 3 because of an illness, but head coach Gerard Gallant believes he will play in Game 4.

When asked about his lineup for Game 4, Gallant said there is a “good chance” that Perron plays tonight. He also added that “it’s possible” that fellow winger Will Carrier returns to the lineup as well.

Their morning skate was of the optional variety, so there was no indication of who Perron and/or Carrier would replace if they play. Tomas Tatar, Tomas Nosek and Ryan Carpenter are the three likely candidates.

Perron is still searching for his first goal of the playoffs, but he is tied for third on the team in assists (7) and he played four fewer games. Carrier isn’t known for his offensive production but has been a physical force on the Golden Knights’ fourth line. He leads Vegas and is second in all of the playoffs in hits-per-game (5.8).

Ehlers is a game-time decision

There is some uncertainty at the other end of the ice as well. Nikolaj Ehlers, who was held out of Game 3 with an illness of his own, will also be a game-time decision tonight. Like Perron, Ehlers is still searching for his first goal but has tallied seven assists in 13 games.
