Hyman Suffers Torn ACL

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL. Hyman suffered the injury in Game 4 of Toronto’s first-round series with the Boston Bruins. Hyman played through the injury and finished the series, with an ATOI of 18:14 over the final three games. He registered one goal and no assists in seven playoff games.

The injury is expected to keep Hyman sidelined for a minimum of six months. Hyman said he is aiming to be ready for the start of next season, but the six-month timeline puts him on track for a return in late October. The 26-year-old winger registered a career-high 21 goals and 41 points in 71 games this season, playing primarily with John Tavares and Mitch Marner on the Maple Leafs’ top line.
