Introducing the DailyFaceoff Betting Section

First we teamed up with our friends at Corsica Hockey to add Player Ratings to our Line Combination pages and now we have added their Betting Tools to DailyFaceoff.

Corsica uses “sophisticated machine learning algorithms” to generate their betting predictions. Corsica has set out to find an edge against the Money Line, the Spread and Over/Under. They provide you recommendations on who to bet on and how much to wager depending on your risk tolerance.

To learn more about Corsica Hockey’s state-of-the-art algorithms check out their predictions explainer.

You can find all of Corsica’s Bet Prediction on DailyFaceoff this season but clicking “Bets” in the header.

Throughout the year we will take a look at some of Corsica’s predictions and breakdown the games that they predict have best “Value” and “Highest Probability.”

Highest Value

Calgary @ Nashville — (Moneyline | CGY +150)

The Calgary Flames are road underdogs in Nashville tonight, but Corsica gives them a 41.97% chance of winning outright. Calgary is off to a 1-1-0 start, but did not look good in their first road game of the year. Calgary’s new top-line of Johnny GaudreauSean MonahanElias Lindholm has had an excellent start to the campaign and have a slight edge at 5v5 as they go head-to-head with the Nashville Predators top line (Filip ForsbergRyan JohansenViktor Arvidsson) according to our Daily Fantasy Line Matching post.

Beating the Predators on the road is no easy task, they were 28-9-4 at Bridgestone Arena last season, but only seven teams had more road wins than the Flames.

The goaltending matchup is expected to be Pekka Rinne vs. Mike Smith and Travis Hamonic is the only key member of either team that will sit out.

Highest Probability

Calgary @ Nashville — (Spread | CGY +1.5)

Corsica also likes Calgary against the spread, giving them a 68.59% chance of covering the +1.5 spread.

Los Angeles @ Winnipeg — (Spread | LAK +1.5)

Since I’ve already take a look at the Flames/Predators game, the next highest probability bet is the Los Angeles Kings covering their +1.5 spread in Winnipeg, this is a prediction but there is no doubt there will be a lot of betting going on, specially because it has become one of the trends 2019. The Kings will be in tough during the Jets home-opener, especially since Jonathan Quick is on injured reserve and Jack Campbell is between the pipes. Campbell is inexperienced, but Anze Kopitar is as good as any at shutting down the oppositions top-lines. Kopitar will have his hands full with Kyle ConnorMark ScheifeleBlake Wheeler, but if he can neutralize them, the Kings will have a good chance at covering this spread. . Like the Flames, the Kings were one of the best road teams in the NHL last year, but their opponent was dominant on home-ice—Winnipeg led the NHL with 32 wins in their home rink last season.
