Jaromir Jagr Skates; on Track for Next Friday

According to Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer, via Twitter, Jagr skated with his normal linemates Scott Hartnell and Claude Giroux. Sounds like he will be good-to-go against the Ducks but check back on game day for an official confirmation.

UPDATE 11/30/11: Dave Isaac of Philly Sports Daily breaks down Jagr’s groin ailment perfectly. From Philly Sports Daily:

Jagr said earlier in the week that he planned to sit out two games. Friday’s would qualify as the first and after Saturday’s in New York, he has five whole days to rest before the next game. Holmgren confirmed the target date saying, “we’re shooting for next Friday.”

Jagr could return a week from today to take on the Anaheim Ducks. In the meantime, keep him out of your fantasy hockey lineup.

Jaromir Jagr left Wednesday night’s game due to his groin injury and will not play tonight. The Czech legend claimed he felt 100 percent following some accupuncture but likely will miss some time due to this injury. In related news, Flyers captain Chris Pronger is also hurt.

UPDATE 11/22/11: Following today’s practice, Jagr felt like he could play against the New York Islanders tomorrow in Long Island. Likely watching Sidney Crosby of the rival Pittsburgh Penguins light up fourth-stringer Anders Nilsson had something to do with it. Nevertheless, keep in mind his past quotes, coupled with the below conversation with Dave Isaac. From Philly Sports Daily:

“It was a pretty good practice. We did some game drills and it didn’t bother me,” said Jagr. “I didn’t go 100 percent, but I don’t want to do anything stupid to not be able to skate tomorrow. Now I have an extra one and a half days to heal it.”

Certainly sounds like he’s ready so be ready to put him back into the lineup against those lowly Isles.

UPDATE 11/21/11: Jaromir Jagr will miss his second consecutive game tonight but explained that his groin does feel better. From CSN Philly:

“I’ve never missed more than a game or two [in the past],” Jagr said.

“Whenever I feel something is wrong, I go to an acupuncturist and he fixes it right away. “Because I know that acupuncture works on me just to get the pain away. But now I have to build up the strength to make sure it doesn’t come back.”

At this point, his initial pain has subsided and Jagr will just need a little practice before drawing in. Sounds like Wednesday evening against the New York Islanders is an attainable goal.

UPDATE 11/18/11: According to Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jagr will not be available for Saturday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets but may be able to play on Monday when the Flyers host the Carolina Hurricanes. We probably will have another update prior to Monday’s tilt.

Jaromir Jagr left tonight’s game against the Phoenix Coyotes with a lower-body injury. According to Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly, Jagr “was sandwiched between two players during a shift, winced in pain, then left the ice.” The team would give no further update on their superstar right wing.

Expect an update at some point tomorrow.
