2/3/12: Detroit Red Wings starting goalie Jimmy Howard will be sidelined for at least two games according to the team’s official Twitter account. Originally reported by ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun, via Twitter, Howard was originally expected to miss around two weeks. However, the team is claiming he will sit out for two games before being reevaluated by team doctors.

This injury comes in the middle of a career season for Howard. The Ogdensburg, New York native leads all goalies in wins and is second in shutouts. He also places in the top five in goals against and top 10 in save percentage.

In the meantime, look for Ty Conklin and Joey MacDonald to split time between the pipes.
