Lowry Suspended Two Games

Lowry Suspended Two Games

The NHL suspended Winnipeg Jets forward @Adam Lowry two games on Monday for an illegal hit on Calgary Flames defenseman @Oliver Kylington. The play occurred in the second period of the Heritage Classic on Saturday. Lowry was originally penalized for two minutes for boarding. The suspension is the first one handed out by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety this season.

Lowry has spent the early part of the 2019-20 season centering the Jets’ third line, playing predominantly with @Andrew Copp and @Jack Roslovic. He has no points in 12 games this season with 12 shots on goal while averaging just over 13 minutes a game. Copp will likely shift over to centre in Lowry’s absence, with @Mathieu Perreault being the most likely player to be promoted from the fourth line. @Logan Shaw is expected to dress in Lowry’s place. Lowry will be eligible to return for Saturday night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
