Most Likely to Succeed: San Jose Sharks

Most likely to Succeed is our newest series which points out one player from every team and explains why that player is poised to increase their point totals. While some teams may have more than one player likely to breakout and some none, we will focus on the ones who actually should improve with a full healthy season. File this article under a sleeper-type but sleepers would not be called that if people saw them coming.

The Sharks being the fantasy powerhouse that they are have an opening for a new fantasy-relevant component after the retirement of Rob Blake.  Word on the street calls for one of Derek Joslin or Jason Demers to step up and help their team; and your team.

Last season Demers put together a 4-17-21 line while getting a few choice minutes on the second powerplay unit.  Over half of his points actually came with the man advantage which gives him the highest offensive ceiling.  Joslin, on the other hand, only put three assists up in his quarter of a season with the big club.  Looks like he could be bound for a role more similar to what Demers did last year, riding the shuttle back and forth to Worchester.

The team’s blue line is certainly a situation to monitor.  We will keep you updates as we follow training camp to the utmost aspect.
