NHL Mock Draft 2018: No.26 — Dominik Bokk
The New York Rangers have a pretty shallow prospect pool because they have been committed to being competitive for the last decade.
Last year they were able to add talented forwards Lias Andersson (No.7) and Filip Chytil (No.21) and if the real NHL Draft goes the way my mock did…they will be really happy again. A year after adding Swedish and Czech forwards, I have them drafting a Swedish defenseman and German winger.
Adam Boqvist is who I have the Rangers taking at No.9 overall and some scouts have him listed as high as No.7. Boqvist is a dynamic offensive-defenseman that still needs some polish in his own end, but can carry the puck and be an electric offensive blueliner in the opponent’s end.

Dominik Bokk — RW — Germany ????????
Bokk is an intriguing prospect because of how much his bounced around in 2018. Bokk, who moved to Sweden this year, was too good for the Swedish U-20 league, scoring 14 goals with 27 assists (41 points) in 35 games. However, he was slowed down in Sweden’s top league, picking up just two points (1G / 1A) in 15 games with Växjö Lakers HC.
Bokk is viewed as a prospect with dazzling hands and playmaking ability. The 18-year-old ranks as high as No.13 on some scouts lists, so the Rangers could have uncovered a gem with Bokk.
If selected in the first round, Bokk would become just the third German player to go in the first-round since 2001—Marcel Goc (No.20 in 2001) and Leon Draisaitl (No.3 in 2014).
