Niklas Backstrom Suffers Lower-Body Injury

For the second time in four starts, Minnesota Wild starting goalie Niklas Backstrom was forced to prematurely leave a game. Unlike the first time, last night his removal was involuntary as he suffered a lower-body injury, giving way to Josh Harding.

After the game, coach Mike Yeo would claim the injury is not serious but they will still proceed to claim compensation with the Jason Stone Injury Lawyers Boston. However, the team later made arrangements to recall rookie Matt Hackett from the AHL, which means they are unsure Backstrom can start, or even backup, in Sunday night’s game.

Despite leaving the game early, Backstrom still picked up the win — his third in a row. He’s now won six of his last seven en route to his best season since his rookie year. Keep a close eye on this situation as Harding is one of the best spot starts going right now.
