November 7th – Fantasy Hockey Goalie Rankings

What is up Fantasy Hockey enthusiasts? 11 games on the schedule tonight with a number of sweet matchups for us to enjoy. Are you going to watch the 1-7 Minnesota Vikings vs. the 3-5 Washington Redskins? YAWNNN… For our fellow Canadians there is Montreal @ Ottawa, also the Canucks are in San Jose for the late game – should both be great. The Red Wings return home to face the surging Stars, and whenever Alex Ovechkin is in action you will be on the edge of your seat… Especially when he takes on the red-hot Josh Harding tonight. Enough banter, here are tonight’s DailyFaceoff goalie rankings – If you don’t know who to start… You simply start the guy who is ranked the highest.

1. Tuukka Rask (vs. FLA) – He beat the Panthers when Tim Thomas was between the pipes… Tonight it is Scott Clemmensen – He is a must start.

2. Jonathan Quick (vs. BUF) – The Sabres stunned the Sharks the other night (no thanks to the refs). Do you really think they can win two in a row on the road? Not me.

3. Sergei Bobrovsky (vs. NYR) – Bobrovsky was chased from the net in his last start. Then he sat two in a row… This guy is a battler – He bounces back tonight vs. the Rangers.

4. Carey Price (@ OTT) – 2.02 GAA and .937 SV% in four starts on the road and Montreal seems to be in every game. I say they pull this one out.

5. Antti Niemi (vs. VAN) – The Canucks seem to bring the best out of the Sharks. They have beat Vancouver in nine straight games (4-game sweep in Playoffs) – Roll Niemi.

6. Ray Emery (vs. NJD) – Shutout the Devils last Saturday… That’s good enough for me. The Devils have NO offence.

7. Ben Bishop (vs. EDM) – Take another look at Bishop’s numbers before you think about benching him… The Oilers have a ton of talent, but can’t seem to put it together. Ben at least gets you the W.

8. Brian Elliott (vs. CGY) – Shutout the Panthers in his last start and has another great matchup tonight. He is valuable when he gets crease time.

9. Jimmy Howard (vs.DAL) – Howard was excellent against the Jets but the Red Wings played poorly. Expect coach Babcock to get the boys going at ‘The Joe’ tonight.

10. Josh Harding (@ WSH) – The way Harding has played he should be higher… But Ovechkin and the Capitals make me nervous. His numbers could take a hit tonight.

11. Roberto Luongo (@ SJ) – See Antti Niemi ^ – That losing streak makes Lu a little bit risky, but he should still be a serviceable start.

12. Braden Holtby (vs. MIN) – Holtby is on fire right now, but so are the Wild. This game is a toss up with the way both Holtby and Harding are playing.

13. Kari Lehtonen  (@ DET) – He was able to beat the Bruins, so there is no reason why he can’t beat the Red Wings… I just don’t think they will tonight. If you disagree, swap him with Howard.

14. Robin Lehner (vs. MTL) – I like Montreal in this game, but Lehner will make enough saves to make him a viable start.

15. Martin Brodeur (@ PHI) – Brodeur has picked up his play and the Flyers cannot score… However either can the Devils, drastically limiting his value.

16. Cam Talbot (@ CBJ) – Talbot has been a great back-up for the Rangers, and the matchup warrants spot-start consideration.

17. Kevin Poulin (@ CAR) – He was able to shut the door on the Bruins, so tonight against the Hurricanes who are ranked 27th in scoring he is an interesting/risky spot start.

18. Jhonas Enroth (@ LA) – I like Enroth as a goalie, but not a fantasy goalie. The Sabres are a bad defensive team – Enroth is going to be in for a long night.

19. Reto Berra (@ STL) – Berra played well until the third vs. MIN. The Flames are dealing with some injuries that cripple their ability to beat St. Louis tonight.

20. Devan Dubnyk (@ TB) – Steven Stamkos has six goals in his last six games… I’ll pass. (Likely)

21. Justin Peters (vs. NYI) – Peters finally won! “But Brock it was against Philly…” – Oh yeah… you’re right. No thanks on Peters.

22. Scott Clemmensen (@ BOS) – There is nothing to like about this one. A lifetime back-up with a 2.74 GAA against the B’s? Yikes…
