Phil Kessel nets natural hat trick against Vegas

Holy moly, Phil.

Pittsburgh forward Phil Kessel recorded his first hat trick with the Penguins and sixth of his NHL career Thursday evening against the Vegas Golden Knights.

After Vegas opened the scoring, Kessel scored the next three — with the final two coming on second-period breakaways.

Here’s a look at his two breakaway goals to complete the hat trick:

His last hat trick came Feb. 1, 2014 as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 6-3 win against Ottawa.

Kessel has scored 20-plus goals in 10 consecutive seasons and is one of just five NHL players with an active streak of at least that length.

Phil the Thrill can’t be stopped.
