Ference has not played since November 27th and has only appeared in six games this season and that is all he will play in. Ference will undergo season ending hip surgery, but he still has one more year left on his deal with the Oilers.
Ference continues to battle a lingering hip issue and has been moved back to IR after not playing since being activated last Monday.
Ference missed Tuesday’s practice and will be held out of tonight’s game vs. the Avalanche. He will undergo further testing to determine the severity of his injury. Keith Aulie is expected to get back into the lineup with Ference out.
