Kuemper was announced as the Wild’s starter tonight, but the Wild’s goaltending roller coaster continues. Kuemper who has been battling a bug recently, may be sick again. We will get an update on Kuemper’s status shortly, but it will be Curry between the pipes vs. Winnipeg.

Curry served as Niklas Backstrom’s backup last night because Darcy Kuemper was out with an illness. With Curry heading back to Iowa, that suggests that Kuemper will be available for Saturday’s game.

Curry was pulled off of the ice from his start with Iowa last night. He has been recalled as insurance for Niklas Backstrom tonight, but head coach Mike Yeo is hoping that Backstrom will feel well enough to start. If he is not, Curry will go.

Curry was pulled off of the ice with a 4-1 lead on Tuesday; could start for the Wild on Wednesday. Both Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom are sick, so it looks like Curry is on his way up from Iowa to start tonight vs. the Bruins.
Head coach Mike Yeo is expected to address the media at 6 PM ET, so we should find out who his starter is then.

The Wild have re-signed John Curry to a one-year, two-way contract.
Curry, 30, played in the ECHL, AHL and NHL in 2013-14. After going 10-2-0 with the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), Curry went 7-9-2 with a 2.62 GAA and .920 SV% in Iowa (AHL). He only played two games with the Wild and will be back in the AHL again this season.
Goalie Start
Curry will make his Minnesota Wild debut Thursday.
Curry started the year in the ECHL, where he went 10-2-0 with the Orlando Solar Bears. After moving up to the AHL, Curry posted a 7-9-2 record with a 2.62 GAA and .920 SV%. His first win with the Wild will not come easy as he gets set to go head-to-head vs. Ryan Miller and the Blues.
